Even thought I called a week, and again a day in advance to confirm reservation, I was told the morning of the rental that if I didn't arrive at the office when it opened, I could not be guaranteed a vehicle. The car that I was given smelled so terribly of disinfectant, we had to purchase bottles of vinegar to dissipate odors. We also had to leave windows open at night and wash all clothes that came in contact with seats and floors.Reviewed 10 Mar 2022

The website added a pick up location away from where I asked. I was very specific in my search to ask for a specific airport pickup. and when we arrived at the airport site they said they had no reservation, the site where our reservation was closed, they had no cars at all. They offered no help other than yo try the other car rental counters in the airport. Flip side was Thrifty/Dollar who offered many suggestions for dealing with Alamo (try Uber to hotel & Uber back in the morning), and then worked hard to not only find a car my husband could fit in, but reduced the price as best they could to come close to matching the price we got from Alamo.Reviewed 23 Feb 2022

Cons:Pick-up was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. We arrived at the downtown Tampa facility at around 3:50 due to a flight delay only to find the office closed, with s note on the door that it would reopen on 12/26. Fortunately, we were staying with family on 12/24 and 12/25 so didn’t need the car. However, when I showed up at 8 a.m. on 12/26 to pick up the car for a trip to Fort Myers, I was told that there were no cars available at any Alamo facility in the Tampa metro area. The manager snd staff made no efforts to help, Fortunately, I was able to find a car at Hertz, albeit at 2.5x the rate I’d reserved at Alamo. Terrible experience.Reviewed 1 Jan 2020
