I was charged more than I was quoted when I reserved the car, then they charged me a cleaning fee for sand that would easily vacuum up with the standard interior cleaning they do to every returned car (no mud, staining, or anything that would require scrubbing or a cleaning agent). I rent a lot of cars and have never had these problems. This seems like a blatant rip-off.

Time sto th he clerk window to pick car could have been shorter Kayak should ask fir hertz account number in reservation so Hertz has profile already at checkin. Hertz normally upgrades at pickup as a President circle renter. Through Kayak, no upgrade came. Do I will book directly with hertz later not Kayak!

I rented the mystery car. They wanted to give me a 12 person van. My other choice was the Genesis G 80 all electric I chose that car. I asked The Avis representative to show me anything about the car and he said it’s just like driving a gas car turned out there was a lot of stuff that is different and I knew nothing about how to charge the vehicle that became very difficult to do. The car had no adapter so I could not use a Tesla charging station. I only had 6 miles left on the battery and anyway that was very scary and challenging to try to get it charged and when I called Avis to ask about it, they hung up on me. I don’t believe that was accidental.

Horrible customer service. They never inspected the car when I picked it up. The car was old with 40,000+ miles on it and with all kinds of damages. After I dropped it off two days later, they charged me for a broken window.

Pick up and drop off were both quick and simple, staff was helpful and friendly each time.
I’ve rented hundreds of vehicles working in transportation over the last 20 years. This is the only terrible experience I’ve ever had. And after all the problems I was charged double. And told I would get 10% off my next rental. Zero stars

Didn't have my reservation when arrived. Tried to give me an electric car Chevy bolt even though I reserved an SUV. When I asked why they were very rude and combative. Asked to speak with manager and eventually he said he would provide an SUV but then waited an hour and had to go back up to the counter and finally just settled on a sedan that was available since there was still no SUV. Even though I heard them "upgrade" another customer for free to a rav 4 suv who came in after us.

After waiting for 10 min they said my car wasn't available. Waited another 10 min and then canceled. Staff was not customer friendly and did not respond well to or resolve my complaints. When I said I was going to Alamo one staff member said"good luck" sarcastically.

Pickup was easy but later we discovered the driver side front lock did not work and when you started the car up and backed up, the brakes made an awful sound. Brought these to the attention of the manager when we brought the car back. They did an investigation but we have not heard back from them.
Did not have the car we requested. Got a small suv that would not hold all our luggage.

Staff was inconsistent in the information they gave me. It cost me hours of time, and I missed the event I was in town to see. I made an error, and didn’t have what I needed to pick up my rental. Instead of telling me in the beginning the pickup would be impossible, I ran around wasting time trying to complete their suggested work around. After paying for and providing a printout of what I was told by their staff I needed, they still did not allow me to pick up my rental. The situation I was in was my fault, but the way their staff handled was extraordinarily disappointing.
