Cons: No dinner available on premesis. Big walk up hill to get to reception area (but plenty of help with your bags). You will have to drive to restaurants etc.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bridget and Leon were great hosts and spent a lot of time helping us find things to do in the area and giving us a history of the place. The food was good and we enjoyed the horse ride. It was a great place to relax after a long day exploring the beaches, forests and snorkeling! It is off the beaten path, which was one of our favorite things about it. I wish we would have stayed longer!
Cons: The only issue we had was that one of the mattresses in our room was very firm, and I sleep on a firm mattress! Also, I would book the bungalow which is separate from the other 2 rooms to have a little more privacy and quiet.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A/C pretty good. The Shower and also the utensils for cook were really helpful.
Cons: The place is 10 minutes from Tambor Beach. The place is sparkling clean and the owner was really helpful. She gave us directions to playa cocalito. This place is really good for the value, especially for a group of friends or family with a Sedan accessibly road.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The ranch sits in a calm and relaxing area not far away from Tambor by car. The house was big enough to accommodate 8 people, it was clean and had all necessary appliances to cook. We really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: The wifi was down at the time due to public construction/renovation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: PURA VIDA!!!! Relaxing, peaceful, genuine hosts and their dogs are the best! Best time on my trip (or in the past 20 years) was horseback riding with Leon and the dogs frolicking the whole way just made me smile and forget the outside world. If you are looking for a serene authentic experience, this is it.
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Little B&B at the private Farm, were the only guests stand enjoyed being exposed to the nature! The hosts are lovely (Dutch and German) and prepare a welcome Drink and a breakfast for you, in wanted. It is very isolated and you have some bumpy road drive up there (we had it all over the places during our trip), but enjoyed this private secluded place and waking up with nature and animals around us. Good value for money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Wow !! What an experience we had as a family in this beautiful ranch with those beautiful people- Brigitte and Lean are so genuinly kind and welcoming. We had great and interesting discussions in thz evening. The double room was very large, confortable and clean with an all equiped kitchen outside. Breakfast made by Brigitte, with delicious home made multigran bread and mango jam, was aamazing. The kids had a great horseback riding experience (because it is not like any other offered everywhere) .. Because Leon makes all the difference with his stories and because the horses are so happy in this place. When there, we visited tombor and montezuma... Both very close by car. The ranch is huge, very simple, peaceful and beautiful... We didnt want to leave this place... We hioe to be back soon and recommand to anyone wanting to experiznce a real finca in costa rica.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really good place and good location to visit the peninsula. Brigitte and Leon are very nice people always looking to give you good advice to enjoy your holidays.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the nature surrounding the ranch, the beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. We could buy breakfast at the ranch and it was delicious. Very quiet and peaceful place that we recommend. The hosts were really nice and friendly! Fidelito is far from the dust and about 10 minutes drive to Tambor beach, which is a perfect combination!

Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a ferry terminal shuttle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel will take your breath away. The location is truly stunning, beautifully designed & furnished & set on a private sandy beach. The pool area & bar is inviting and the restaurant interesting & serving great food. The owner is friendly & very visible to all guests. Her team were all friendly & helpful . Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury with taste.
Cons: Not a negative, but quite tricky to travel to, as the main road is under construction , so just be prepared for a slightly longer journey than you may think!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice beach setting. Great staff and restaurant. Resort never felt crowded, small enough, in terms of capacity, to be personal. Owner was on site for our whole stay and is very friendly. White face mokneys hanging around the pool resteraunt.
Cons: Lot of stairs to our room (the rooms are scattered across different locations on the property) which was sometimes taxing in the heat. Ocean was a bit rough so you had to pick your times for swimming.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely accommodation set in beautiful grounds and overlooking a really gorgeous private beach. Great food in the restaurants too. Will definitely be back.
Cons: The wi-fi was poor, but we had been warned about that, and it was a small price to pay. Breakfast was good, but the coffee not great.
7.9 Good
Pros: - nice beach, - scarlet macaws, howler monkeys in the hotel area, - great viewpoint, - tasty breakfast with Britt coffee and Twinings tea
Cons: - the Internet. To be honest, THERE IS NO INTERNET IN THE HOTEL. The internet speed is like a 20 years ago. You cannot use it to call friends, send images and work. It was highly unacceptable. Staff was aware of the problem but they cannot do anything, - big waves, you cannot swim in the ocean, - too many people in the area with aggresive dogs, - no tea in the room, - no restaurants and sodas around the hotel. The nearest are in Montezuma.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good and secluded for those with a car. The property is on a very nice beach, though not one you want to swim in due to the strong surf. Very pretty though. It's very near Cocalita falls and the area surrounding the property is nice and rural. The grounds are well groomed and there are flowers peeking out from the well manicured hedges. Three or four pools and lots of places to feel as though you have escaped. Massage was fantastic and the atmosphere is tropical if a little sterile.
Cons: Indifferent staff at the desk and in the restaurants. Appalling wifi. Most sites timed out before they could load, in the room or in the lobby. Though the lobby was marginally better. At semi-premium prices it is not acceptable quality. Asked for help booking something and was pointed to a computer in the 'business' area. 5 minutes to get a beer when there are three servers in a bar with only two other tables is poor service. When there was rain in the evening not one waiter helped guests bring their food under cover. They did ensure the seat cushions from empty tables didn't get wet. The food was fairly low quality (especially for the price) and the staff never bothered to ask if any of the meal items were good or bad or whatever. Just drop the food and take the money.. Very indifferent service. The room (jungle) was nice enough but felt a little worn. Not sure if the bed sheets had been changed or if the bed was just sort of sloppily made before I arrived. All in all kind of a let down if you have high expectations. Fine as a way to segue into your Costa Rican vacation but not really the best you'll find in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our short stay at Tango Mar. This propriety is REALLY on the beach and the beach is super clean private and beautiful. The owner is overlooking everything and you can tell she is on top of everything :) She came to great us during dinner and really like all small attention. Not for party but to relax and enjoy la Pura Vida .
Barceló Tambor - Tambor - Building
4
9.0 Excellent (4,875 reviews)
₹ 14,861+
Overview Reviews
The Barceló Tambor (5-star) hotel, refurbished in December 2012, is located in Tambor Beach, Costa Rica. The hotel is unique because of its stunning natural location that faces a gorgeous beach on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice place, great food with lots of options. Good options for entertainment.
Cons: Facilities a tad old. Crowded.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you are not snobbish and do not aspire to elitism, Barcelo Tambor is a great place to vacation. The Tambor bay and beach are unspoiled and scenic, the sea water temperature vey pleasant, the Barcelo facilities nicely designed, its grounds carefully landscaped, and the food vey good for a mass tourism establishment. I had a great stay at a comparatively reasonable price. Two final positive notes. Next to Barcelo Tambor is a small airport which has in and out regular avionette connections with SJO airport. At Barcelo you can book a snorkeling or scuba diving trip to the nearby Tortuga Island or a visit to the Caño Natural Reserve, both of them worthy day excursions.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: The room was not clean at all and probably had not been updated at all since it was built. It was all inclusive which would be great if you like drinking rot gut liquor that seemed to be watered down and your only choice. The food was mediocre at best also had to get up by 7:30 am to stand in line if you wanted to eat at one of the two specialty restaurants. Also talked to a good friend from Tambor and told us people who are not tourists pay less than half of what we paid. Also the pool area was so crowded the only chairs we could find were on the beach.
6.0 Good
Pros: The geographical location, the buffet, the family atmosphere, the horse stable
Cons: infrastructure is getting old. Reported that our room phone had its plug removed, before we arrived. Front desk seemed to not be concerned. When it was pointed out that was a hazard, to other staff, the phone was fixed on the second day. The room safe was broken, with its keyboard broken, and was never fixed during our entire stary.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The beach is amazing and the hotel is huge (1,500 guests) which is mostly a negative but comes with a few positive perks from economies of scale such as an amazing parrot park.
Cons: The hotel is too large and too focussed on domestic tourism. I would not recommend this hotel if you are a foreigner looking for a quiet, relaxing retreat. If immersing yourself in a 24hr open bar latin party surrounded by nature is your thing then there is no better place
6.3 Good
Pros: The food was good.
Cons: Rooms had a musty odour about them. Beach is very gravelly. Hated waiting in line for specialty restaurants.
4.6 Okay
Cons: In the space of 4 days: Broken shower No towels Large cues to eat Broken toilet Meal took 1:30h to arrive at the restaurant Wifi only available in the lobby and very expensive 20 minute cue to speak to staff at the lobby, would not pick up phone
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great unspoiled location & good value for money.
Cons: On our first day in particular queues to book an a la carte restaurant and have breakfast (buffet) were very long - over 1 hour. The evening entertainment could have been structured better - childrens entertainment ran through to 9pm, the "ice-breaker" (game show style) was only in Spanish (so completely lost on English/ US/ Canadian unless bi-lingual) then the main show at 10pm. Format would have been better without the ice-breaker.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Only thing we liked about the property was the Japanese Specialty restaurant and Edwin, one of the supervisors in the bufet and above mentioned restaurant.
Cons: Some of the workers simply did not know how to deal with clients, in our case showing their discontent with whatever was said that did not agree with, for example it says Barceló Tambor is a 5 star, but if you don’t book your stay directly with them, you won’t be given complementary wifi, really? A 5 star all inclusive that does not give free wifi? A $12 per person/day cost? When we went to eat at the bufet we found a worm in one of the tomatoes on our plate, and al though Edwin, one of the supervisors there immediately apologized and got us a dinner at the Japanese specialty restaurant instead, it still makes you wonder how is this a 5 star resort? Who rated them a 5 star resort? I’ve been in 3.5 star resorts way! better than Barceló Tambor. Since we arrived a lil bit before our rooms being done, we went to eat while they were holding our luggage in a room close to front desk. When the room was finally done we had to wait for about 20 minutes for them to find someone to come open the door so we could take our items, how is that possible?!! In the room itself the a/c barely worked, and the telephone did not at all. On top of everything, getting into bed we found a cockroach chillin’ between the bed cover and bed sheet, and since the telephone didn’t work I had to go all the way to the reception to ask for a complete set of new bed sheets & cover, which doesn’t seem too much of a hassle unless you have one of the furthest rooms possible in the whole resort!!! In conclusion, we do NOT recommend this resort. There are so many other all inclusive (real all inclusive) resorts, where the things might not be perfect but at least it’s not one disappointment after the other, such as it was with Barceló Tambor.
Casitas Sollevante - Montezuma - Pool

Located in Cobano, Casitas Sollevante is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Montezuma Beach and Romelia Wildlife Refuge. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Unique place with a beautiful view.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool was beautiful view was incredible staff friendly
Cons: Liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You must wake up to see the sunrise! The service, pool and our room was outstanding. It is away from town so very quiet. We paid a bit more to get exactly that and more! Highly recommend this place.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Marco and his staff were excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous pool area, serene surrounds, clean and tasteful rooms, helpful and friendly staff and an incredible view. Room 4 is particularly well situated to take in that view of the ocean.
Cons: Nothing - it’s perfect. Will definitely stay again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Marco has created a small paradise in Montezuma. Everything was amazing, the staff, the swimming pool, the view, the food! Everything was amazing!
Cons: If I have to give one negative point, it’s that the WiFi reception wasn’t very good in the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly situated in a remote and quiet location, the property boasts private casitas, a swimming pool, a yoga deck and a bar where you can order excellent Italian food. Marco, the owner and chef, is dedicated to pleasing his guests. The staff are kind and helful. The Italian/Costarican food is truly wonderful, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner - be sure to book ahead! This is a perfect place to rest a few days, visit the Montezuma area, and enjoy the beach from afar. Owing to its location atop a hill, you can see the wide ocean and feel a nice breeze (as opposed to suffering from excruciating heat when near the ocean). Highly recommended for couples or travelling buddies.
Cons: Keep in mind that Casitas Sollevante are situated on a hill overlooking the ocean. This means that walking to the village takes 20+ minutes via main road and service road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We simply loved the place. We had not seen any pictures of the rooms online, and we did let the host know about that. But our room was really nice with a very good bed, a coffee machine and a fridge. The shower was GREAT - an open shower where we could see the moonlight looking up and it was big enough for both of us :) The room was very cosy and comfortable, up to modern standards. The whole place was like a little Paradise with great views and a romantic, tranquil stay. The pool was nice and clean and great to dip into for cooling off during the hottest time of the day. Marco is a great cook and we were so pleased with the food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the cleanliness and the unique style of the hotel. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful as much as they could with any requests we had.
Cons: On kayak the map shows as if it is walking distance to the town of Montezuma. Unfortunately, it is not walkabout because you are up in the mountain a bit. It is a very quick taxi ride to the town, however if you plan on staying out it may be a bit difficult to find a taxi for the ride back. I called the hotel and was unable to get assistance with a taxi back to the hotel so we just kept asking around town.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff Great pool with view
Suntrails Lodge - Montezuma - Bedroom
6
9.0 Excellent (196 reviews)
₹ 6,502+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Suntrails Lodge in Cobano, you'll be by the sea, within a 10-minute walk of Montezuma Beach and Montezuma Falls. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, especially if you like to be off the beaten path. Views are incredible, the photo attached was off our balcony one morning. We also saw monkeys crossing one of the suspension bridge cables. Breakfast was good but not fancy, served on the patio by the pool. Everything seemed very clean. We didn't mind, but you have to climb a lot of steps here, drive up steep roads, and the driveway itself was pretty rough and would have been very difficult in a small car. It's a good 15min walk down the (very steep) hill to the beach, and probably 25min to the town. If you have a problem with heights, you may want to avoid the suspension bridge! None of these things were a negative for us, but good to know ahead of time.
Cons: Although the room was clean, we had ants in the room when we arrived. The guy on staff sprayed around and tried to clean up the dead ones, which mostly solved it. The bed was pretty firm.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was set above Montezuma with a steep road to get there - not easy to walk back from after dinner in Montezuma but it was certainly picturesque and a "hanging bridge" to use to walk to the neighboring road. Plus breakfast had the same sort of view. The hotel also had air-conditioning which was nice after the humid days there. It was also well set up just near the waterfalls of the small town.
Cons: Nothing springs to mind !
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the view from the room, the breakfast area and the pool. There was good coffee to make in the room and a great restaurant was just a short walk away. The hanging bridge was great too.
Cons: For some people the location on the hill could be difficult but we enjoyed the walk and exercise.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, brand new
Cons: No mirror other than the small bathroom mirror
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely stunning (we, of course, particularly liked the suspension bridge and the nearby paths to the waterfalls), staff were super friendly and helpful and the hotel was very well-kept.
Cons: Possibly bringing luggage up and down on the outside stairs, but there the staff quickly intrervened and did it for us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great views and good location for the waterfall, lovely staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice small hotel with an amazing view of the sunset from your balcony. Breakfast was simple but good. We could hear the howler monkeys near by at night and got to see some in the morning. They have their own trails to access the Montezuma waterfall, it's well worth it. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: I coffee machine would have been nice but by no means a necessity.

Certain rooms feature a seating area to relax in after a busy day. Certain units include views of the sea or garden. The bed and breakfast also offers car hire. Jacó is 48 km from Luz En El Cielo Eco-B&B/Hostel, while Santa Teresa is 13 km from the property.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room is beautifully constructed and modern in a natural setting, as depicted in the pictures. Romantic glass wall shower with good hot water (though not necessary). Nice high ceilings and glass double door that opens to nature. Good ceiling fans.
Cons: Our main disappointment was that this room which was supposed to be a romantic "seaview" in the jungle was actually less than 30m from the main road to montezuma, so the loud sound of vehicles was a constant thing and took away from enjoyment of the setting. We moved to another property after the first night. Room was facing the ocean, but absolutely no way you could see the water from this far away with the trees in between, so calling it that was deceptive, in my opinion. The large glass sliding doors that open to view of trees are great, except you have to keep them closed at night to keep out bugs and they do create a bit of greenhouse effect, making the room warm. There was no mosquito net on the bed, so we got a number of bites during the night. The breakfast was just OK, typical for Costa Rica.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the jungle, near the beach, confortable beds, nice employees, you get to meet great people, great breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very well located. Nice place in the jungle. Staff very nice and helpful
Cons: The bungalows are very hard to reach up on hills with very little path. The room was small and the bed were hard on the back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostel is located next to jungle so you can hear the howler monkeys in the morning. I enjoyed that. The beach is walking distance. Very nice atmosphere. Harold is a great host and always smiling.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! This Hostel has everything you need for a real Jungle Experience and still being close to the Ocean and Montezuma City. I had a bed in the dorm and found it really comfortable (mattress). The Breakfast every morning was amazing. They even served me at 6.30 coffee, when I told them I had to catch the bus. Harold, Erika and the whole Team were so friendly and caring. I stayed for 6 nights and every day, the Hostel had been cleaned! After 3 nights they even changed my bedding. The use of the kitchen to cook is a great Bonus and the Supermarket therefore just around the corner. I would recommend anyone, who thinks about staying in Montezuma, to stay more than two nights here. Because Montezuma ist such a relaxed place to stay for a while. Thanks for hosting me. Svenja
Cons: Everything Top!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. We were able to see the monkeys from our room. The best breakfast (tasty rice, eggs, fresh fruits) The staf was very very nice and helped us with recomendations of where to go and do around the area.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: We were in a 5 bed room. The double bed was inflatable and not confortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Super friendly staff, very charming place.
Cons: Dorms are small, the smallest I had in Costa Rica in fact. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here more than 10 times, so that tells you we enjoy it. The owners and staff are wonderful. The food is outstanding.
Cons: The cost has gotten quite expensive.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff was very nice. Everything was kept clean. beautiful landscaping. Right on the beach. Waterfalls in the pool. We saw lots of lizards, iguanas, and even monkeys! Breakfast and dinner were included; the menu was large and the food was great.
Cons: For the amount of money we paid we expected our cabin to be bigger/nicer. It was only the size of the king size bed; no room to walk around or store luggage. Wish you didn't have to go out of your room to go to the bathroom. No hairdryer. Wish there would be more shuttle options than only at check-in/out because when it was super hot the walk to and from town was brutal. Would have liked to be shuttled or have access from the hotel to use 4wheelers to get to the waterfall entrance or to the beach for our Tortuga Island boat trip. Would have liked a warning about how bad the roads were to get to Montezuma, it was a rough drive. Pool got really crowded during the hottest part of the day. Needed more lounge chairs for guests, maybe even expand the pool area a bit.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach. Small boutique resort.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent restaurant and staff. Great location, right on the beach.
Cons: Cockroach in the bed! However staff member was excellent in dealing with it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing! We are a vegan couple and we were on honeymoon, staying there for 2 weeks. They had a vegan menu and the staff were happy to veganise other dishes for us. The food quality was fantastic, the staff were so helpful and nice. They gave good advice on what to do locally and how to arrange our days so that we could get the most out of it. They gave space as well as always being there when needed. The resort was an absolute dream - it has been built around the jungle so that it is always present in a beautiful manner and you can really appreciate it. You get to see wild animals as they go about their daily business. The beach is right there (the view from the restaurant is spectacular) and you can always hear it. The jungle pool is the best pool I have ever seen or been in. It is so peaceful and quiet at this resort that you cannot help but relax and feel good.
Cons: Nothing! It was all amazing and we wish to return there in the future :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything else sans-bugs!
Cons: Lots of bugs but hey this is real nature...can't complain!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good, nice staff! Helpfull. Location is beautiful!
Cons: First we had a cabin. They are too poor, shabby and small for the price. They should rebuilt that. But happily we could get a good room at the end!
4.0 Okay
Cons: Too much lighting in the bedroom. It was basically glamping.

Pros: The setting is amazing. The grounds are well kept and have lots of spots to relax and enjoy the sea views. You really feel like you are some place exotic. It is a little piece of paradise.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect, the backyard leading to the beach is amazing! Nice sunset view!
Cons: The smell in the room, was some musty smell as if it needed a dehumidifier in there.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff. Beautiful setting and tide pools.
Cons: The linens could use replacing otherwise all great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is stunning. The hotel has real character. Very romantic. We would absolutely stay there again.
Cons: Minor grumbles, but the rooms are quite dark and not getting a coffee or tea in the morning without paying feels a little miserly for the price of the hotel. Also the restaurant appeared to be closed for the duration of our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a true paradise: its location, wonderfully created and maintained garden just on the shore next to the ocean is magic place to stay. It brings you to another world of appreciating the moment, daily sunrise, quietness - only the sounds of ocean and birds. The facilities are well maintained, the owner is German lady and you can sense a highly practical, quality driven with good standards approach, and friendly hospitality in everything. The breakfast wasn’t included in the price of staying but was worthy to have in the beautiful terrace with the view to the garden and ocean. Very good diversity of breakfast and tasty bread! The best in Montezuma! Closest is the waterfall where people come for hiking, and yoga studio is just 3 mins walk! I couldn’t find the better place in Montezuma and overall it is one of the best I have ever stayed, while traveling a lot! Thank you
Cons: Nothing here to say.

Pros: Staff very friendly, nice breakfast
Cons: It’s a bit noisy because it’s located next to the main road
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: This was by far the worst hotel ice ever stayed at. I've stayed in hostels that were a third of the price and 10X more acceptable. It was filthy and absolutely uninhabitable. We stayed long enough to book another room and got the hell out!

Pros: Breakfast and dinner was awesome.
Cons: Very bad internet.

Pros: Maryely and Fernando were very kind and friendly. We got a welcome drink and invited to the a bbq dinner with the lively locals. The room was big with air conditioning, fridge, tv, balcony and chair. The breakfast was delicious and I highly recommend this place as a stop over.
Cons: The tv remote needs the button for audio in English.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Honestly the only good part was that there were a few nice employees especially Lester.
Cons: The place was extremely loud. The main road was connected to parking lot and very loud trucks were passing at all times. The bar downstairs stayed open late with very loud music and metal doors slamming then they reopened at first light making it impossible to sleep. The manager/ owner/ chef was rude and refused to return any money once we decided that we didn't want to stay. He insisted that we spent the difference in his restaurant which was subpar at best. He didn't have many ingredients for the food and drinks that we were made to spend a good deal of money on. At one point we ordered desert and were asked to prepare it myself because I am a chef. They didn't have most of the ingredients for cocktails that were listed on their drink menus. Would not reccomend.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Near the beach—-1/4 mile
Cons: 1. Many roosters “crowing” about 4am. 2. Extremely poor shower & water pressure. 3. Average quality breakfast. 4.Parking in the lot results in a lot of debris & droppings on ur car. 5. Bathroom sinks have been pulled away from the wall— very fragile. 6. No towels/water glasses/toiletries provided in room 7. We had to change rooms twice & left one day early because of poor facilities & attitude of motel Mgmt.

Pros: Good wifi, reception very helpful
Cons: On middle of things so quite noisy
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: There was air-conditioning, location is close to the beach. Montezuma is a cute town. Loved Sano Banano!
Cons: The room was old and had mold in the bathroom. The hotel wasn't secure and everything seemed dirty. Look at that light switch! I slept fully clothed and on top of my sarong. I took pictures to illustrate how dirty it was. The fridge froze anything we put inside. The fan rocked back and forth and seemed like it would fall at any moment. The location is across the street from a bar that blasts music and party in the street until 3 am. This is fine if you're just using as a drunken crash pad but the windows didn't close properly so all the sound travelled inside.

Pros: Room was large
Cons: restaurant tables out out bedroom window

Pros: The direct view of the ocean!!!! Only 20m distance, a dream

Pros: Lovely balcony area with hammocks, nice communal kitchen and reception area. The room and bathroom were nice and it’s right in the middle of town and staff are friendly and helpful
Cons: Air con is $10 extra and was added to our bill without me realising until after. We would have used it anyway but would have appreciated being told / given the option
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for being able to walk to the beach, into the little town/restaurants/market, and to the waterfall. Elias and Angelica (I think was her name), were absolutely wonderful, they answered any question we had, made themselves available, and were so pleasant/kind. If you ask them about tours, they are able to help you get a discounted rate at one of the tour "shops" on the main street.
Cons: The room we got was not as nice as the pictures showed. The door had a gap and the walls were thin so we could hear every little noise from the outdoors and other guests. The window was also not able to be fully shut so that allowed additional noise in. There was a DJ in town one of the nights and that kept us up until the wee hours of the morning due to the noise.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff

Cons: Nice to have a kitchen, but the lack of cutlery makes it kind of hard to use. Easily fixed though. Otherwise a very nice place.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location! A few minutes walk to the shop, restaurants and the beach. Cozy with hammocks in the common areas. Nice with a sofa group outside the rooms. We had 2 rooms, No. 32 (junior suite) and No. 33 (suite)
Cons: The rooms are extremely responsive and smell a bit odd. If you live in room 33 you are disturbed by traffic. We had to split the air conditioner control because it was missing from room 32.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely. Always smiling. We were in a room on the roadside and asked to be moved and they kindly did. The atmosphere and friendlies of the other guests was nice. More like a hostel feel.
Cons: The bathroom was not very clean and mouldy. We stayed for 5 nights and the room wasn't serviced in that time. I feel if it had been it would help with the mould/ cleanliness issues

Pros: Very helpful staff., the young man. We did have one of the cheaper rooms 1st night(at the back) room was fine for the money. But asked how much extra to move to the front, better view and away from road. One was free so he helped us move rooms for no extra cost. Beautiful old building when you look around upstairs .

Pros: You must wake up to see the sunrise! The service, pool and our room was outstanding. It is away from town so very quiet. We paid a bit more to get exactly that and more! Highly recommend this place.

Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff Great pool with view

Cons: We were in a 5 bed room. The double bed was inflatable and not confortable.

Pros: Super friendly staff, very charming place.
