Pros: The location of the Riad is perfect, in front of the dunes. The Riad is so beautiful, charming and tidy. There is a terrace to see the sunset through the dunes of erg chebbi. The rooms are clean, beautiful and warm. Youssef and the women have been super helpful with us since the beginning. We felt like in our home. We will come back!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was awesome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect host. Great location. Great food. 1 minute walk from the sand dunes.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place! The house itself is charming, traditional, and spotlessly clean. It is perfectly situated, about a five minute walk to the centre of town and about the same to the desert sands of Erg Chebbi. There are great views of the dunes from the rooftop terrace. But the real star is Youssef himself. As host he is friendly, helpful and charming. He is never overbearing or intrusive. He organized a wonderful sunset camel ride for us, involving a local family. He also organized a fantastic desert overnight for us. We were far from the tent cities where most tourists go. We were in one tent, and only the guide and his two sons in another tent shared the space. It was amazing! Can't recommend Chez Youssef enough!
Cons: This place was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Youssef went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Youssef is the best guest! We really felt like at home. We liked this place so much that we decided to extend our stay for one night. His facility is beautiful and with all the comforts. Super clean and well mantained. The activities that Youssef organizes are really well tought, the excursion on dromedaire was a superb experience. Location is perfect to visit the dunes and it is in the center of the original village of Merzouga. Dinners and breakfast were really good too. We’ll definitely be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Chez is a fantastic host. Highly recommend organising your overnight desert camp through him as it's in the middle of the dunes away from the other camps. The other camps are situated on the outskirts of the dunes but with Chez you get to stay in the middle and have a private experience.
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr.Youssef is an amazing host. We felt like we are visiting a family member. We stayed one night at his house ( with wonderful dinner and breakfast) and he arranged the desert camping for us for one night. We are a family of four so we got our own private camping with three Berbers who went with us and all the supplies. They were so nice. They found us the perfect camping spot in the middle of large dunes and we could sled, sandboard and watch sunrise and sunset from these and they also cooked us a great meal for dinner and breakfast. On the desert trip Mr Youssef surprised my husband with a birthday cake. So my husband got to have the most amazing and memorable desert birthday with fire, music, stars, amazing food and to top it all a birthday cake with candles. Thank you Mr.Youssef for this memory! He also arranged to take with us a sandboard for my son. In the morning my daughter wasn't feeling well and he sent a 4WD to pick us up and the guy gave us such a thrilling ride on the dunes that my daughter forgot all about her illness and now my kids want to go back to Morocco to experience the 4WD on the dunes again
Cons: The view from the roof was not as great as I believed it would be from other reviewers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: super friendly and hospitable owner Youssef prepared the best breakfast we had during our stay in Morocco.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very cool and beautiful location and well equiped with own bathroom etc. No other tentcamps nearby and lovely live music in the evening near the fire. The total package was overpriced for what it was, as you can’t stay there for the day as it’s too hot.
Cons: Hot tent at night & slightly overpriced.

Pros: We really enjoyed the camp and the friendliness of the staff, we felt like we were one more bereber! Also, what I want to highlight is the delicious food, as you could have many dishes from typical moroccan to international cuisine. We asked them in advance if they could prepare a vegetarian meal, and they adapted perfectly. My wife and I couldn’t be happier that we got to spend this amazing time here!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chez TonTon is without a doubt the best hostel we’ve seen in Marokko by far. The staff is very helpfull and polite. The owner speaks Arabic, English, German, French, Berber and a bit of Spanish. The room was huge, cozy and superclean. We arrived at 6.00am and eventhough we booked for the coming night, we were welcomed and given a room to rest immediately. (Free of charge) The next morning we booked a deserttour for a small price that left at 16.00pm that same day and to make life easier for us they served us a meal within minutes. The deserttour was unique in the way that they took us to a small private camp away from all the bigger tourist-overrun plastic mega villages that are omnipresent in the Merzouga sand dunes. We had a private guide and the camp to ourselves. Wow! When we got back to the riad we got a wonderfull and really obundant breakfast before taking of by 4x4 with yer anorher personal Berberguide. Again an interested polite young man that knew a lot and was willing to explain. The staff just kept pleasing us and thinking with us without ever being pushy. When we left the next morning on de 7.00am bus to Marrakesh the owner even arranged an extra early breakfast for us before bringing us to the busstation by car. Is you even want to experience Merzouga and real Marokkan hospitality.....visit Chez TonTon. You will not regret it.

Pros: We had a fantastic stay at Riad Ali . Beautiful hotel , excellent most helpful staff and excellent breakfast as well as wonderful home-cooking in the evenings. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be booking again for my next trip
Cons: No negatives
6.0 Good
Pros: Very good location, right on the desert, very nice pool
Cons: Half of the light bulb in the room did not work, after two people showered the bathroom floor flooded. Breakfast was cold, probably made the night before.
6.3 Good
Pros: -they didin’t reply to the booking message when we were trying to contact them about the pick up service we didn’t hear from they, which made us a bit anxious because our bus arrived late. However when we finally arrived, the owner was already waiting there. -The friendly is very friendly and helpful and professional. Even it was late, he still showed us everything in the room and the beautiful terrace to see the stars. -easy access to the desert from the back door -breakfast provided in limit time(I guess) because the staff knocked the door to remind you/wake you up to take the breakfast
Cons: -once we met, the owner started to keep talking/selling his package on Sahara trip and everything like camel ride etc. At the moment when we told him we have planned everything and already booked a camp he changed his face in one second, left us with one word”checkout at 11”and then left us in the lobby until the staff came, which is rude and unprofessional. -the bathroom is too large and no heater which is extremely frozen during winter -far from the the Main Street/any shops 预定之前已经看到booking上提及老板态度有问题(太过用力推销/冷淡)等。但是觉得位置不错还是选择了。去到之后发现镇上很多选择/很多酒店都是这种配置。所以不用强求这间。
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location...superb. Breakfast..superb. Stuff..over the too...warm...friendly.....kind...all the best.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was helpful and the place is basically next to the dunes. At night you can go up to the Terrasse to look at the stars, is a must do at night Dinner cost 13 eur, quite tasty. We had the meatball Tajine.
Cons: The facility was basic and the breakfast was ok.
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to desert Good breakfast
Cons: Don’t ask staff for desert activities except you are good at discuss the price
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is extremely well kept, with safe parking, a pretty pool and a beautiful terrace from which you can see the dunes - great for sunset. Dinner was very good and reasonably priced. Our room was very clean and there was hot water. WiFi worked well.
Cons: Neither rooms nor the main lobby / dining area really warm up at this time of year, which lead to pretty chilly nights
4.0 Okay
Pros: The Riad is well designed with nice courtyard. There is even a roof to observe the sky at night. The sand dune outside the hotel is worth the time to explore.
Cons: The light and AC at the room are not functioning very well. You can barely see anything inside and the AC works a long time to heat up the entire room. Be careful when you want to stay during winter time. The shower is a disaster. It's not working very well and the hot water just stop right in the middle during shower. We have a take cold water shower at winter time. The staff is not really welcoming but only focus on playing their video games. Will not recommend this place to friend in the furture

Pros: Brahim and his friends / colleagues welcomed us very lovingly. They were always extremely helpful and courteous. The Riad itself was very beautiful and clean. We immediately felt comfortable. The location directly at the entrance to the Moroccan Sahara is unique. After we got a detailed consultation about the activities we could do during our stay, we had a very delicious dinner. Best tajine we had so far! We finally decided to go on a camel ride towards sunrise next thing in the morning, which really was a dream. We had our own camels that carried us through the desert led by our very nice guide Said. Definitely worth an experience! All in all a great experience and highly recommended!
Cons: all good!
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice surroundings with efficient staff. Breakfast very good indeed and fixed menu dinner was served in comfortable dining room with log fire.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, close to the desert, around 5-10 min's walking. Buffet breakfast start very early, and have a lot of choices. you can just sit besides the swimming pool and wait time pass by. This hotel seems very popular with the Japanese, i've seen lots of Japanese travelers..even a cute and friendly Japanese staff there for a work!
Cons: Too much flies...almost everywhere except in the room, but maybe is normal in this place, desert activities are too expensive than other countries we have been.

Pros: The location is excellent, right at the dunes. We were made to feel so welcome by the staff despite the hotel being quite busy the day we arrived. We had a really nice meal and a chat by the fire in the evening. A special thank you to both Ahmeds for taking such good care of us, taking us to see the oasis and also for inviting us for lunch with the family. We felt really honoured.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and friendly staff. The owner Achmad is a nice guy. Camels are owned by the hotel and can be booked. Breakfast is more then the usual Morocco continental option. Sun on the terrace from sunset. The terrace has a direct view to the dunes. Really nice place. We wanted to stay one day, but stayed three nights instead.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellant view
Cons: Public transport information
5.4 Okay
Cons: It was the view of the swimming pool against the backdrop of the sand dunes that sold us the booking. However the rooms did not live up to our expectations as it was very basic. But what was most disappointing was that no one bothered to come out to welcome our group. And when we asked what the dinner menu was, we found out it was only soup and chicken tagine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, direct access to the duhnen and camels around. Friendly staff and nice attractions! Enjoyed it very much.
Cons: The window in front of the shower reveals a little bit of the shadow for the people outside. It might be nice to make it a bit darker.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very good location. The hotel is new and nice. But the manager and the receptionist(she want charge us 60 euro per person for the camp...)destroy our Sahara days....
Cons: Don't trust the manager. He sell as a accommodation in desert camp mustapha desert camp for the price 100 euro for the couple!!!!when we see the price in booking.com was just 30 euro for the couple!!!!!!!so be carefully!
