I arrived to only be told that I would be charged an additional 800 dollars on top of what I already paid online. I felt like I was being scammed for more money. I ended up paying 450 usd more than my quoted priced online when booking and paying. I feel very taken advantage of. Will never book again through Kayak or through this company. The process of purchasing through Kayak was simple and convenient. However the service and response from the Hertz "partner" was the complete opposite. I had to cancel the second week of my reservation because of an illness (that turned into the eventual passing of a family member). Hertz was non-responsive to my request for a refund and was even less helpful when I finally submitted supporting documentation at their request. I changed my request for a refund to a credit when I return there in a few months, and my request seemed to vaporize! Deeply disappointed with the Hertz response and will not return to such a heartless organization. To the contrary, my dealings with VRBO over cancelled accommodations (which involved much more significant dollars) cold not have been more empathetic or convenient.
