Email gave wrong pick-up address. Correct location closed at exact time of scheduled pickup. Agent on phone unhelpful and a car was not available at any other location. I had to cancel altogether.Reviewed 23 Jan 2023

I needed to cancel within the 24-hour cancellation period and while the cancellation was accepted I did not receive a refund. Half an hour before the original reservation was supposed to be picked up, I received a call from Hertz saying that they didn't have the car. They left no other options or a number to call back. I still did not receive a refund until I filed a chargeback two days later. Very frustrating experience.Reviewed 4 Jan 2023

Kayak moved my reservation from a rental pickup at the airport to a reservation offsite. After landing, I found that I couldn’t rent a car from hertz because the reservation was offsite and the office was closed. Hertz was fine, the problem is Kayak.Reviewed 15 Aug 2022

The manager’s special was fantastic at this location in downtown Milwaukee, about a third of the cost of picking up at the airport. But beware, even if you have a reservation and pre-paid it, they have limited cars and may run out of cars when they allow people to extend reservations. So they’ll let someone use the car that you already paid for and you’ll be out of luck for a rental. Just beware that this might happen when making your reservation. They called to let me know they had no cars, put me at the top of the waitlist, and came up with a car anyway an hour later. Otherwise, I’d have been paying $249 at the airport instead of $89, with no recourse. Plus having to wait to get the $89 refunded, and who knows about the third-party insurance I bought. I arrived with pre paid reservation only to find they had NO cars available and a waiting list 17 people long waiting on cars. The staff was kind and tried to be helpful given the circumstances. I am waiting to see if I will in fact receive a full refund.Reviewed 15 Jun 2022

Had to cancel my reservation because they didn’t have any cars available! On the day of the reservations they said I was #13 on a waiting list. So much for planning ahead! The reservation wasn't even for Hertz at the Airport. It was for the downtown location that closed 15 minutes after my flight had landed. I take responsibility for not realizing the location, but I had plugged in my flight and would have thought my arrival time would have created a red flag in the system.Reviewed 22 Nov 2021
