Banff Aspen Lodge is located in Banff National Park, 4 blocks from Banff National Park Information Centre. Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies is a half-mile from the hotel.
Lovely stay at Aspen Pros: We loved our stay at Aspen. The hotel is in a great location, the breakfast is great too. We loved the homeade breads and granola. It was also nice to have a heated garage for our rental.
very comfortablePros: The hotel is very nicely renovated-lots of thought seems to have been put into the design. The courtyard with the pool and hot tub is tastefully done and very inviting.
The room was very clean and comfortable.
The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good.
A great location for walking around the town.Cons: The light switches were a bit hard to find and the room was quite stuffy, very little air circulation.
Fairly expensive, but it was high season and busy in Banff.
Pros: The hot tubs were amazing, however it would be nice if they were open 24hours. Cons: The breakfast bar was mediocre; there was one older waiter with gray hair who was very rude. Unforunately the horrible waiter definitely impacted our stay and left a bad last impression.
Cons: Great place in prime location
Pros: The hotel is situated well in the town of Banff, facilities are nice and updated and the staff are very friendly.Cons: Nothing in particular
Great place to stay!Pros: The hotel is in a great location, it was only a block to the grocery store and two blocks to the downtown area. Buses pick up for the ski hills at the hotel next door.
Breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day and the servers where very friendly and welcoming!
Rooms were spacious and gVe us plenty of room to spread out.
I would rec'd and stay againCons: We lost power one day for 6 hours, and none of the facilities were working and our room was dark, would have been a non issue but that was our off ski day and we just wanted to relax around the hotel that day...
Pros: Loved the modern design and location. Cons: Rooms were very squishy. No room to move around.
Cons: I was not aware when booking the rooms that the prices were in US dollars, not Canadian. This could be made clearer on your web site.
Pros: The outdoor hot tubs are amazing!!!Cons: The smaller hot tub needed the chemicals adjusted, your skin kinda stank when you got out.
UPDATED HOTEL but I WOULD SAY IS ONLY A 3/4 STAR RATING AFTER REMODELPros: Great breakfast.Cons: Lack of Air Conditioner on 30 degree C day. Did not really sleep due to room temperature.
Brilliant staff and facilitiesPros: The staff on the front desk were fantastically helpful whenever we needed a recommendation or directions.
The included breakfast was always fantastic, a wide variety of options some of which changed every day.Cons: The hot tub and pool chlorine was pretty strong, i like a good soak after skiing but i had to leave before i would have liked.
Great deal, excellent locationPros: Location was steps away from downtown Banff, it can barely be beaten. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was nice to have a great free breakfast in the morning before heading out for the day! The hot tubs in the courtyard were very convenient and had a relaxing atmosphere. I definitely recommend this hotel if you can get a deal!Cons: Nothing was really a deal breaker, however if you end up stuck in the room for any reason (sick, injured, etc.) the televisions are very dated, which surprised me compared to the rest of the hotel.
