Cons:Towel cards used and so people who lost their towels would steal yours, stressful to worry about stolen towels, sprawling, long walk to beach and pool from just about every room so I wouldn't consider it beachfront, every room is a garden view room, no elevators, restaurant reservation systems hard to figure out and again stressful. They don't realize that stress free is what vacations are all about. Food very average. I would expect these problems at a 3 or 4 star hotel but they claim to be 5 out of 6
Cons:Front desk was terrible. We waited 2 hrs at check-in to get a room with 2 beds as per our reservation. Upon leaving, our safe stopped working and it took them over an hour to send someone who did not fix it and then another hour for 2 men to show up and fix it. The water in the mini fridge tasted like tap water and gave us stomachaches. And the restaurants were all terrible.

All of the sit-down restaurants require a little less than business casual wear. For men, this means long pants or leisure, non-athletic shorts. Women dining at these eateries should opt for a maxi-dress, dress shorts or capris paired with a short-sleeve top. Restaurants requiring this dress code include the El Dorado, La Adelita, and Sumptuori restaurants. The buffet restaurants and bars, however, do not have these same rules.
During your vacation at this resort, you’ll have access to non-motorized watercraft including kayaks and paddleboats. You can also experience and take lessons for water activities such as snorkeling and scuba diving. These lessons are led by trained divemasters and the resort’s dive center is PADI certified.
If you decide to have a destination wedding at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, you will have a wedding coordinator to help you with all of the planning and details. Get married directly on the beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea, or under the gazebo in its tropical garden. Have your wedding reception outdoors or move indoors to one of the meeting rooms. The night before the nuptials, the resort can also arrange for group outings to help the groom, bride, and attendants unwind with activities like sailing, golf and archery.
A junior suite is a good option for parents that are traveling with children. You’ll have your choice of a king size bed or two double beds in the main sleeping area. The sofa bed in the living quarters also lets out for extra sleeping space. The suite is also a little more spacious than a standard room. If you have a larger family, you can request connecting junior suites.
Live music and bands perform nightly in the theater. Games and competitions such as treasure hunts and karaoke tournaments are also fun family activities at the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa.
The spa provides an array of beauty services. Some of its special treatments include vapor baths, eco-meditative cold baths, Vichy massages, couple’s massages, and a waterfall spa.
If you have little ones aged 1-3, you can take them to the Baby Club. Supervised by trained childcare givers, they will have access to age-appropriate toys. There is also a toddler playground with sand and small slides. It is separate from the other playground for safety reasons. Like with daycare, there is a nap room equipped with mats, blankets, and pillows in which the little ones can rest.
