The location and the staff are very kind and accommodating.
The hotel was conveniently located near Lall of the gaslamp restaurants and bars. The staff from the hotel receptionists, the bar staff and the doormen were exceptional. The hotel employee. Was friendly and helpful. He made us feel valued as guests.
More affordable tea parties
Finest hotel experience I've ever had in San Diego ! Concierge staff was wonderful. Especially hotel employee. Very personable and helpful.
Street noise from vagrants yelling at night. Nothing that the hotel can do about it, it is the "sign (noise) of the time" ;-(
Valet parking personnel were great!
Hotel employee at the front desk ruined our stay.
The hotel is ornately decorated & has a regal feel to it. The location is awesome & easy walking distance to many restaurants, bars, & little longer walk to the port & marina. The rooftop pool is very nice it, & most of the rooms have a great city view.
The only thing I would have preferred is an ice machine accessible to guests. You must call room service for ice, although the wait was not too long. Parking is expensive.
In San Diego, there is nothing else like it. The Westgate Hotel offers the finest in guest accommodations. Offering some of San Diegos largest rooms and suites, The Westgate Hotel has all of todays modern amenities. Retire to luxury and relax in the fine appointments of The Westgate. Designed to rival the finest hotels of Europe enter the grand lobby and you're transported by the rich carpets and eighteenth-century tapestries, bronze sculptures and Baccarat crystal chandeliers, antique furnishings and the light strains of Chopin from a Steinway grand. Every one of our guestrooms is drenched in natural light from windows framing views of harbor yachts, a sunset sky or the shimmering city."a contemporary version of such elegant buildings as the Ritzs of Paris, Madrid and London, the Grand in Rome, the Amstel in Amsterdam and the Imperial in Vienna."
