Proximity to restaurants/bars.froendly service - good room service.
Beds didn’t have real comforters and mattress was a little hard. Walls are thin and you can hea people in the halls - but it’s old so expected.
Good for a swim
Fairly nice place. Could use some updating as far as room and bathrooms in room. Staff was very attentive and helpful. We did enjoy the pool but it was a bit crowded due to it having a private party of non hotel guests.
Dated room and bathrooms.
I loved everything about this hotel. I felt like I stepped back in time the minute I walked in. The staff was super friendly and very attentive!
If you're looking for a quiet place to crash for a business trip, this probably isn't the place for you. It's a pretty hip place so people in their 20's and 30's love it. And with that being said it's a party hotel. Which I thought was great but don't go in expecting to get any solid sleep.
Loved the retro!
It has a great authentic retro look and the lobby and cafe (good food) were great places to hang out. Staff was friendly.
The walls were thin and there was a noisy family in the room next door. However, the staff spoke to them and they quieted down so sleeping was not a problem.
A hidden gem!
We LOVED our time at The Lafayette. It has such a cool vibe and the staff was so kind. We had our toddler with us and he had a great time in the pool and getting stickers from the front desk staff. We can't wait to go back!
There are weddings and events on Saturday which was loud, but they stopped right at 10pm. It looked so fun! So we didn't mind.
I loved the huge bed and linens were nice. Staff was very friendly and the bar was cayuuuute!
My room had dusty lampshades, and picture frames. The corners of the bathroom floor were dirty with debris and some hair from the previous guest.
It was alright.
The hotel was 15 minutes from a bunch of places, so it wasn't too bad as far as convenience.
The description said free wifi, but wifi was only available in the lobby. We'd called for desk service and they were so slow to respond and bring what we requested to our room. The suite itself was mediocre at best, but at least it was clean. Really, really small bathrooms though and the windows were so awkwardly placed. If you opened the bathroom window, people passing by got a direct view of you on the toilet, so thats uncomfortable.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Good location. Quiet and clean.
A reminder of how nice it may have been at one tim
Most of the staff was very friendly, and the decor was nice.
The walls were paper thin and you could hear absolutely everything. Our first room was over the parking garage entrance, and would shake like a small earthquake each time the garage door would open. After requesting a change, we were put directly over the lounge, which pumped loud music into our (2nd story) room all night. The rooms were filthy, with mold growing in the bathroom, and years of filth piled anywhere the vacuum did not immediately reach. To top in all off, on our way out, my wife decided to take a few pictures of the pool. There was one person sitting by the pool (on the side opposite of us) obviously vaporizing nicotine, so the hotel staff decided to come yell at my wife and I, threatening us with fines for smoking. It was aggressive, rude, and forceful, when they had no idea as to the actual situation. I would NEVER stay here again.
close to our daughters home
Comfy bed. Great value
Bathrooms could be nicer.
I liked the location.
It is under construction, but it appears nothing is being done. The windows were really dirty the woodwork on the building is peeling and old looking. The furniture is worn, torn and just old.
The other reviews are quite accurate. This hotel is not far from the center, and prices are acceptable, if you get a good deal. More than 80 dollars would be too much for the service offered.
Rooms are really old and rundown. I mean really. This supposed remodelling is very small. Continental breakfast really is a joke, as stated by others. It's embarrasing, really. An old an unadequate room, terrible coffe and muffins.
it was a dirty disgusting mess. i won't use this site again or stay at this hotel again. i travel 250 days of the year and using this site and hotel was a first time experience i won't ever repeat.
everything. it was filthy and not worth the price. disgusting.
Historic hotel with lots of elements of an elegant past. Large pool with overlooking rooms and a spa tucked into a breeze way.
While they appear to be in the process of restoration there is much to do to bring back it's past luster.
Pool access. The front desk clerk was very helpful. The hotel was close to many of the cities attractions.
The continental breakfast didn't have much variety and they ran out of cereal by 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. The exercise room was a joke, it had one small universal weight machine. The rooms were so old that the carpets were very stained. The room smelled musty. The tub didn't drain and the sink pulled away from the wall. No bathroom fan. Water rot along the baseboards. They claim to be remolding, but there is no sign of anyone actually doing any work.
too much noise - music all day in pool area which was right outside our room
Disatnce to main Harbiour and Shopping area , Mission Valley
pool area was very nice, bar, room where cleaned very well daily
located in bad area, dangerous at night to go out with taking taxi.
Is very quiet.
Pleasant atmosphere, free internet connection
Room had some street noise
