I had an excellent experience with Ethiopian Airlines.
I had an excellent experience with Ethiopian Airlines.
Agent was friendly and helpful
Fine for a short flight
Everything was satisfactory, but the plane is in the older side and the food and entertainment options were mediocre
A bit cramped - the flight was 45 mins early which is usually welcome but not what you want when it leaves at 23:45 Addis time and arrives at 04:15 Rome time (5h30) instead of 5:05. Nothing to be done if you're travelling from Addis to Rome but if you're connecting as part of a longer journey, you may want to consider another option with an overnight long enough so you can sleep.
There is a decent selection of in flight entertainment but it freezes sometimes. Hold down the "power" and "home" buttons at the bottom of your screen to reset your console.
I took six flights with Ethiopian and are were early. All of their longhaul aircraft are modern (oldest was 12 years old) but they do feel cramped when full. They lost my luggage on the way out you really have to take the initiative to get it back. They sent it on the next flight two days later but because they lose so many bags and Niamey only has 2-3 staff to deal with them (and they go home after the last flight), you're best to track when the next flight lands and then go find your bag yourself.) I did not have a tight connection on Addis - I guess the plane's luggage hold was maybe full
The plane was old, and the screens and streaming did not work during the 12 hours flight. The seats were uncomfortable and did not recline. The bathrooms were not kept clean. They lost my luggage and failed to locate it so I am attempting to file a lost luggage claim but the website does not work. The staff is difficult to communicate with, and the times for boarding and flights were changed several times,
I was surprised that I was put in first class the whole way! Thank you SO MUCH for such a blessing!
Thank you very much kayak
Not the way I had expected

This flight the air was on, for a change, and we were comfortable. It was not full and the staff got us water, when needed. Bathroom cleanliness is an issue. Maybe more visual signs in the bathroom will help passengers who can’t read keep it clean? Also no toilet seat covers.
ET flights are hot Al’s uncomfortable: the air is typically not on and you feel like cattle. With boarding delays, asking repeatedly for water gets ignored and with the heat, it’s a very unpleasant experience. The food is starchy with the salad as couscous; more starch not a salad. The drinks are a good variety, however.
Old Boeing 737 for a 7 hour flight (usually it is a wide body 777 or 787). Business class seats are worn, no entertainment, flight was delayed and arrived more than an hour late. Boarding was by bus where we waited long in the bus and then had to stand in the rain in queue waiting to board.
Surprise hour long stop in Cairo? It was the middle of the night, maybe we saw the pyramids? But otherwise a pretty rough experience.
I've never been served three bread courses in a single meal before. Was really impressed by the novelty of that.
Was so glad the the captain kept the air. It’s usually suffocating in there.
You are doing fine
Excellent service
Work on entertainment systems and seat comfort. Seats are very old and worn out. Entertainment systems not working,
Used old flight. Seats not comfortable. Entertainment systems not working.
Reliable partner. I am sure I will get to my destination in time. Best airline - spacious leg room, good entertainment are used between Addis and shorter distances. Worst airline carriages - shorter leg rooms, torn seats, entertainment systems not working are placed between Addis and Dulles (very long routes).
The service available is amazing 🤩
Awesome flight experience.
Food
I know this is Africa but the plane seats could be more comfortable
