Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was very clean and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Glad I took a chance and stayed there over Hilton and I am a Hilton member!
Cons: The breakfast needed more options that was not about Toast - Wheat. More fruit or other options for the Wheat free people who is growing in numbers so quickly due to the health issues of Wheat.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the decor and the very friendly staff. Despite the name, Retro Inn, the rooms were modern and comfortable. But the place was decorated with vintage stuff, from the posters on the wall (I was in room 1964 - Beatlemania), to the vintage camping trailer and phone booth by the office. it was great.
Cons: I wish there had been a more comfortable chair in the room....I don't like hanging out on the bed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I enjoyed that each room number was a year and was decorated accordingly. Continental breakfast was great with lots of jams for toast as well as the usual offerings. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Shower had hot water. There was even a Keirog in our room. Be sure to pose with Elvis out front and check out the retro RV.
Cons: No complaints at all!
Good 6.0
Pros: Great location. Decent property with grassy areas. Very convenient parking. Clean.
Cons: Expensive for the type of room (older style with an attempt at bringing back the retro feel). Although I visited during high season, so higher price was expected. My room was very small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We liked how the rooms were specious and clean and the fact we didn't walk in to a hot room. We loved how they took the room number and turned it into a theme for that particular year. We will definitely true recommended this hotel to family and friends.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Decor and theming was very cool. Price was excellent.
Cons: Cement block walls in the rooms remind one of a state university freshman dormitory.
Excellent 9.1
Pros: The motel is recently updated with a mix of modern and retro appointments. While the room holds your basic essentials and nothing "extra", it wasn't lacking. The beds were very comfortable and the theme was nicely, if minimalisticly, completed. The rooms are numbered in years, a fun way of deploying the theme. Our room was 1964, and in it featured a poster of 1964 Beatles.
Cons: We had a late arrival, and the front desk closed at 10pm. They had arrangements, but no the most convenient.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: It is an old fashioned motel remodeled within constraints of old construction. Extra clean.. Staff helpful and friendly.
Cons: Paper thin walls, early flat screen tv not adjustible. Beds just ok.
Good 6.0
Pros: The room was clean.
Cons: The shower ran hot then cold and could not regulate the temperature. Bed was very uncomfortable and we asked for a king and got a queen.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Awesome Staff. Good price.
Good 7.1
Pros: The wood paneling in the rooms was old school--I liked it. Nearby to many state and national parks, so good location.
Cons: The room didn't have many outlets for charging our phones at night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: No frills here but clean and comfortable.
Excellent 8.6
Pros: Only there for one night. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Not a luxury hotel but very clean and comfortable. Definitely would stay there again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were looking for a low cost place to stay since we usually roll in late and leave early. We made it there earlier than planned and it was a good thing. The desk/ check-in person locks up at 9 or 9:30 to go home. She was very nice and suggested some very good choices for eating a late Supper, depending on what kind of food we felt like. Our room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. We had a mini-fridge. They had thought of everything in that room, rags to use to clean your shoes or car. A dark washcloth for makeup removal. We have already recommended this place to family members
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: Clean, quiet, good coffee, good ice.
Cons: The AC was off on very hot days when I came into room after working all day in hot sun. Views from rooms were disappointing. Would be nice to have a view of Mesa Verde in back of room block.

Excellent 9.4
Pros: We enjoyed the breakfast. The pool and Whirlpool was very nice well kept. Rooms were clean. Priced right.
Cons: Our bed did sag a little in the middle. Still slept ok.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Clean, comfortable, convenient. Nice place for a long weekend.
Cons: Local person was camped out on one of the 2nd floor computers all day for a couple days, with all of her stuff spread out around her. Completely unacceptable, and I would have said something if I needed to use the computer.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Everyone gets two pillows and the cases are embroidered with Firm or Soft so you can easily get exactly what you like. Really nice. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, too.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The rooms where very comfortable and the breakfast was great.
Cons: Could hear the people next door.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Front desk agent told us a story that his grandfather told him about Mesa Verde. That was really awesome and just added to the trip. Pool was open all night and you can't beat that either!
Cons: Honestly, nothing. Was an exceptional stay.

Good 7.7
Pros: pool, room
Cons: staff were not that nice
Mediocre 3.7
Pros: Slightly cheaper than Holiday Inn Express but only slightly, (only $15/night)
Cons: Our original room was Old, broken bathroom tiles, and TOILET DIDN'T FLUSH...it didn't even have all the working parts in order to flush! They did move us, but when we returned from hiking the second day, the staff rudely insisted we were supposed to have checked out that morning. When I tried to explain that we had Prepaid for 2 nights she continued to argue and badger me. When she gave me the room paperwork to "prove" to me I was wrong, I promptly showed her the dates that showed we had paid for two nights. Only then did she back down. This hotel is NOT worth $115 a night!!
Excellent 8.6
Pros: Good breakfast, clean large room, quiet
Cons: Wished the pool was outside
Good 6.2
Pros: The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: They know they have an issue with the air conditioning and ventilation in the poolside rooms, yet they still books these rooms. The room was so hot and suffocating we had to leave the room and transfer to another room at 1 am. It was a nightmare
Excellent 8.2
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Room out dated with patchwork repairs.
Cons: Update rooms.
Okay 5.4
Pros: View of the Ute Mtns waking up
Cons: All the doors to get to your room, 1" gap under the front door was cold & drafty.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: A solid choice. The pool in the center is nice though the hot tub was more like a "lukewarm" tub. Breakfast is solid with lots of seating. Great to look out at the mountains. Slightly dated but clean and solid.
Cons: Updating on the rooms would be nice.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: Clean rooms, comfy beds
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.1
Pros: Clean spacious and quiet.
Cons: Dated and getting tired.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Vintage style, very clean, very friendly, a few blocks from the center of town. Why pay more for the corporate, sterile feel of a chain? We picked this because it was affordable - and will stay there the next time we're in Cortez.
Excellent 8.2
Pros: If you like 50's era retro motels you will love this - large rooms with separate dressing area and separate bathrooms. Not your chain hotel at all. Our room had a strange noise that we could not identify so they put us in a second room with no noise. Seems the first room's phone was off the hook slightly which caused a high pitched noise. Staff was excellent and recommended wonderful restaurant not too far away. We had a microwave and fridge in our room also. Both rooms were clean and comfy.
Cons: No coffee in room, only available in the office which does not open until 8 am. But there is a Giant gas station with a wonderful coffee bar just down the street.

Excellent 8.5
Pros: Pool was very nice. Rooms seemed old but were very very clean!
Cons: Front desk is full of scammers. First they double charged my card, even after I approached them during the stay about the charges on my card. Then there was a sneaky 1.60 charge for safe insurance. Since I used kayak they charged my card directly for this. They said I signed for it and it wasn't verbal described because they said corporate can't ask if you are putting anything in the safe. They said its posted on the front desk. Yes that's only 1.60 but what else are charged and what if I didn't catch the overcharge. Very very shady! The clerk I called and spoke to said it was corporate's direction they were using regarding their policies. I am willing to bet econolodge doesn't know about it!
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were really nice. The pool was heated and refreshing.
Cons: They didn't have a crib for us to use for our little one and the fridge and microwave were added as an after thought.
Good 6.8
Pros: Price was right and room was clean...
Cons: ...but very old and worn out. And the ice machine was broken.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Andrew W. made our stay wonderful. He is attentive and friendly and efficient to every request. The Econo Lodge is clean and the breakfast was delicious and on time. We extended our stay at Econo Lodge to drive up to Durango to ride the steam locomotive to Silverton. There are hotels in Durango but Andrew was so good to us and Econo Lodge was so clean and quiet we chose to drive back to Cortez. We enjoyed two days in Mesa Verde while in Cortez. We also took a day trip to Hovenweep. Fabulous vacation destination. It was our first time to Cortez but it won't be our last.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Close to Mesa Verde National Park.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: location right on main street thru town with grocery restaurants very close by, room was no frills but not one complaint either, clean comfortable nice hot shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great Location, Friendly Staff, and great Mexican restaurant next door.
Cons: Hot tub not working.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Newly remodeled room
Cons: One entrance and exit into parking lot
Good 7.4
Pros: Good value. Staff was helpful. The room was good sized.
Cons: The bed was a bit to firm, the pillows needed filling. Breakfast average.
Okay 5.7
Pros: I wish there had been information about the fact that this location did not have elevators. I have very bad knees, and was put on the third floor. Despite asking for a lower floor, I was told there were no other rooms available in the hotel (with an empty parking lot). If I had known there were no elevators, I would have called to request a low floor in advance or booked another location. Staff was not very friendly or helpful either.
Excellent 8.2
Pros: The rooms were a good size and loved the king-size bed was comfy and the room and bathroom were clean. The staff were attentive, and the location is in the center of Cortez with easy access to Mesa Verde.
Cons: Breakfast is nothing special and very basic but this is a budget hotel so about what we were expecting.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location was nice, rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and it is a family owned buisness.
Cons: Bring your own pillows, definitely an older motel.
Okay 5.1
Pros: It had rooms available when rooms elsewhere were reserved for a bike race and the nearby National Park which was the reason I came to Cortez, Colorado.
Cons: The beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was sparse.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: This is a great place to stay.we just needed a good nights sleep, so the added bonus of the hot tub and breakfast made our stay even a better value!
Cons: No complaints! The owner was very personable and helpful....while the rooms are small, every other aspect is great.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet hotel in a great location. Several restaurants and stores are just a short drive away (or a fairly short walk if it's not too hot out).
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The double-queen rooms were big and comfortable. We appreciated the staff being OK with our very late arrival.
Cons: Pool was not open during the hours of our stay.

Mediocre 3.7
Pros: Nothing they were very rude
Okay 4.0
Pros: Great rates, close to my route.
Cons: Yer room was freezing when I got in and the ground was cover with ice. Outside the door there was a bunch of tools and construction material. There was no light outside my door, if my family had been with me, we would have kept driving. The room was clean, but well worn. The sheets and bedding were old and stained, though appear to have been freshly laundered. I pulled in at 11pm and was ready to get out of there before 5 am.
Okay 5.1
Pros: The National 9 is located within walking distance of several coffee shops and restaurants on Main St. The room, furniture, etc showed a lot of wear and tear, but everything was clean. As long as it's clean, I'm happy. The National 9 is a very inexpensive option. I would stay there again, if they fixed the hot water temperature. The hot water temperature was the only show-stopper for me.
Cons: The hot water temperature for the shower and sink was really, really weak. At best it could be called "luke warm", certainly not "hot". The toilet flushed very slowly. I suspected the toilet might overflow each time I flushed it, but it never did. All stations on the TV came in very fuzzy. I didn't care about the TV, so this didn't bother me. Finally, the wifi was very slow. I tested it at about 300kbps, which is the same as my cell phone's 3G data reception.
Mediocre 3.7
Pros: Price
Cons: Only 50% of the light bulbs in the room were functional. Blanket was thin as a sheet; heater was inadequate. Fridge did not work well, and wall outlets would not hold a plug.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It was super late when I checked in. The door was locked, but through a window, the front desk woman met me with a smile, took my information, and wished me well while reminding me to walk carefully over the ice/snow. Very personable, professional, and efficient.
Cons: The TV remote; however, I don't fault them. I know some idiot out there in the "ether" stole the original remote. So lame...
Good 7.4
Pros: Hot shower, was perfect. Room was freezing when we arrived but warmed up quickly, TV worked great, so did the fridge and microwave. Ya, it is older and looks like whitewash was used as paint, but it was better than having to sleep in my truck. I slept well, I will stay here again when I travel that way. It was in my budget. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and held my reservation because I was very late.
Cons: The breakfast is from 7 to 9 but we had to leave at 6, so we didn't get, but for travelers that leave early, it would be nice to have it earlier, but that is okay. Can tell it used to be a smoking room, the bathroom had the drips of old smoke and no fan in the bathroom for when showering. The smoke alarm had no cover or battery, which could be a hazard. Parking very very tight, hard for my large truck. These things are not showstoppers, but know for future stays
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: The room was not clean at all. Hairs all over the floor and in the corners of the bathroom. The carpets were soiled and stained. The room smelled of mold. The towels were soiled and stained. The hot water took approximately 3-5 minutes to actually get hot and when the next door neighbor turned on their hot water ours went cold.
Good 6.0
Pros: They offered breakfast and the price matches the facilities.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Wasnt quite what we were expecting but given the time of year and it was en route to Monument Valley, we were getting desperate! We actually booked for 2 nights but stayed for only one!
