My appointment was from 1pm to 1pm. 24 hours later. I arrived 20 min early to the counter to start paperwork. When they started the transaction they told me that the bill was 150 dollars more than quoted. I asked why to the female worker and she told me they were airport taxes. That was not acceptable. Finally after 5 min. Manager came out and told me that it was because it was an extra day rental. It was because I came in 20 min before one that caused the issue. They should have checked the times to be sure of their system. They do reservations all day and they couldn't catch this error without a manager being involved. Their house excuse that it was airport taxes for was complete BS! Do better!Reviewed 6 Aug 2022

The pickup rental process was extremely confusing and the young lady working it had no idea / training on how to direct all the customers. It took over 1.5 hours to rent a vehicle that we already pre-rented online weeks earlier. The staff were not helpful and absolutely no apologizing about the mess. At one point with two young kids the front lady said valet pickup means you walk around till you find the right car however the license plate number given matches the key set so we had to open doors and review. A gentleman escorted us out rather rudely and the front lady then had to walk around to locate our cars. This was not an isolated incident as 3 families in front of us and the 20+ behind us were all being told the same thing!Reviewed 4 Aug 2022

We reserved a convertible, but we’re told that none were available when we went to pick it up (due to circumstances genuinely beyond their control). They told us to check back the next morning. I called, and was told that we could exchange our car for a convertible at a location near us, but we would have to wait until noon. At noon, we went to that location, only to be told that they had no reservation for us, and certainly didn’t have a convertible in any case. So, we ended up leaving with the original car several hours later than planned. We then decided to return the car two days early, given assurances when we picked it up that we would not be charged for any days we did not use. When we dropped the car off, there was no-one available to issue a drop-off receipt. When I finally did find an employee, I was told to just leave the keys in the car, and they would just email me a receipt when they checked it in. They ended up checking it in the next day (over 12 hours after I dropped it off) but charged us for the full rental. Very dissatisfied. Will not be renting from Budget again.Reviewed 11 Jul 2022

The only thing to comment on was that you really needed another person to help at the pick up counter inside the airport. The line was so long and although the woman behind the counter was working hard to get all the customers helped and on their way, the process took too long. Like I said, she was working hard but folks in line were frustrated to have to wait so long. An additional agent at the counter would have been useful.Reviewed 13 Jun 2022

Drop off was great. Pick up in Charleston unacceptable. No one in the garage and only two people at the airport counter. 50 people in line with a very inefficient system. Waiting in line 1hour and others waited longer. Not acceptable at all. Everyone frustrated with no employees around to serve all the reservations. Drop off was easy and great. Should put the same question for both as they are completely different experiences.Reviewed 7 Jun 2022
