Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing value for money
Cons: No Complaints
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Large, clean one bedroom with very good cooking facilities, beach across the street, private garden with deck for relaxing and eating your meals outside, and with a small grocery store next door.
Cons: Two small points: 1) soap was not provided in the bathroom, and 2) the water was not drinkable and while a bottle of water was provided upon our arrival, we stayed 5 nights and were expected to buy the rest of what we needed at the store.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The owner is very helpful and kindness. The location is great for Snorkeling.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful - safe, quiet, clean - great owners - good communication - close to general shop - owner washed our rental car when a big bird pooped on it and didn’t say anything - we only realised until we were handing back the car at the rental company. We left in a hurry because we messed up our ferry times and felt guilty because we didn’t finish washing up. We hope we will still be welcome back because we loved everything.
Cons: Forgot to take photos to post here and encourage more people to stay.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very clean accomodations. Host was very helpful. Good size bungalow for the island. Would recommend.
Cons: The location is slightly far away from main areas so a car rental is recommended. Marc's car rental is worth it.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Lovely cabin, spacious and everything you need. Very friendly host which offers us free snorkling sets and canoe. The ‘private’ beach is close by, just cross the street. The corals are amazing! Even even the weather is not that sunny. Store next door with, very early, fresh Bread and lovely babanabread. Also many other foods.
Cons: We liked almost everything but after a few nights the bed was a bit too soft for us.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was spacious, clean, private, safe, surrounded by beautiful flora, and every need was tended to by the wonderful hosts. I liked that I could cook in (market nearby) or go out to eat (many restaurants will come pick you up!) I also rented the host’s car for a couple days, which made exploring simple.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The villa was so well set up an the location was so good
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good room, quiet enough ( we had inconsiderate neighbors for a couple of nights - not the hotel’s fault), fully equipped, the staff was excellent and the hotel is situated right on one of the most beautiful beach of the island. You can rent a kayak and literally 10 mins later you’re swimming with rays and sharks. The restaurant next door at les Tipaniers was good, we also enjoyed the pizzas at the ´QG sea you later’ and the amazingly fresh ginger tuna at the coco d’île. Altogether a really positive experience that we would definitely recommend. We wish we could be back!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Great spot, comfortable and modern
Cons: Coffee machine wasn’t working, tried to call the front desk and cell phone since day 1, no answer until we left two days later Hotel is definitely empty, asked for a late check out but not possible... too bad it would have been nice to grant a couple more hours to shower the kids after the beach considering that our excursion has been cancelled. Not sure the apartment is being occupied right after our check out time as we have been offered to shower on the terrasse in the afternoon (with the new guests in then???)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice location and very clean and cosy garden bungalow. The public beach close by was really beautiful. Friendly staff. My highest recommendation :-)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The room was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The beach was great.
Cons: There were cockroaches in the room. The walls were like paper= you could hear everything from the neighbours, every sound.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great beach location and clean spacious bungalows.
Cons: Garden bungalows were a little walk from the beach. No daily maid service.

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great access to the water. Bikes and cañíes available for use. Nice little kitchen. Comfortable bed. Clean! Shop nearby! Good wifi!
Cons: Mosquitos were a problem. Although the bed had a net there were no screens for windows or door. Bathroom and bedroom layout a little odd although nicely decorated. Open shower in the second bedroom would make it difficult for anyone except a family with young children. It is very expensive for what it is, but a nice spot.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Charming, romantic little bungalow, very cozy for one person in my case or would be perfect for two also. Extremely clean and the grounds are meticulously groomed. The whole property is lovely and has water access from a.pretty, grassy little beach. I didn't have a water view but it was only steps away if I wanted to sit by the water. Never missed it because I loved the privacy of my bungalow surrounded by a lush tropical garden.
Cons: Absolutely nothing! There was some road noise as my place was closest to the road but it didn't bother me in the least. With bedroom air conditioning on and windows closed you wouldn't notice it, but I preferred to sleep island-style with a fresh breeze blowing through.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything about Poerani Moorea was fantastic. We loved the grounds and especially the view. The apartment was very comfortable. It was fine for our family of four. The air conditioners in the bedrooms worked well so it was comfortable to sleep.
Cons: More coffee would be nice
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We loved Poerani! Beautiful and convenient location, well fitted out bungalows on lush grounds with easy access to a great swimming spot, with sun loungers and free kayaks. Franck and Emeline could not have been better hosts. Emeline organised scooter hire and transfers for us and was so helpful and friendly. Maharepa is a short walk away and has great options for meals and a supermarket and bank.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful location right on the water. Kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling equipment provided for all quests. Very helpful and friendly owners. Grocery store is very close.
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes, but it was the rainy season. take your bug spray. And 1 bathroom for 4 people was a challenge, but we survived.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very pretty grounds, nice amount of space in the cottage we were in, extremely friendly and responsive staff,
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Free use of bikes, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Host was excellent and very helpful.
Cons: Everything was great.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The beach the corals and the best location for snorkelling. No need to go anywhere. There are rays, black tip sharks and coral fishes as at a few hundred feet. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The availability of kayaks, bicycles and snorkelling equipment makes is a very relaxing environment.
Cons: Perhaps the lack of outside kitchen or grilling facilities.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Stephane was a great host - very friendly and accommodating. Beach access was great. Room was beautiful with all amenities. Great location for walking to town and to nearby restaurants. Good grocery store was very close by for your daily baguettes, cheeses, rum and more.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff! Clean grounds and bungalow , equipped with kitchenette. Free use of kayaks and bicycles. The snorkeling off the pier was a super bonus and even better than many other locations around the island!
Cons: A car is required to get to the banks or larger grocery stores. Fortunately we had planned for this and rented one before we checked in so had the freedom to access the entire island on our own. Store hours vary daily so you might find they are closed in the middle of the day. Research hours before departing, especially if on bicycle!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Super stay, comfy bungalow with ocean view
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The owner took care of us very well. He also feeds the sharks every evening so that we can enjoy the show! Amazing!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very clean, tidy, organised. Everything we need is there. Beautiful place. The tranquility of the surrounding. Snorkeling great, can swim with sharks and fishes every day. Highly recommended.
Cons: Maybe rent a car if staying longer. But won’t be any problem anyway as owners helpful arranging transfer anytime.
Good 7.9
Pros: - Peaceful bungalow by the beach in quiet area - Shark feeding at the pier in front of the property - Bottle water, soft drinks, juices, beers, wines sold on site at resonable price - Paid breakfast served at terrace with ocean views - Kitchen facilities well maintained (although not new/modern) - Free use of kayaks and bicycles - Welcoming staff
Cons: - Location is a bit further away from main tourist areas and most tours do not provide pick up from here - Air condition can only be turned on when room key is inserted - Not enough lighting in the room
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Walking distance to restaurants & shops was nice. Air conditioner was terrific. Transportation to and from airport was wonderful, even though it had to be at unusual hours.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The whole place was very clean and tidy. The setting was exceptional and the staff were really friendly and always happy to help . Meals were good and we made use of the bikes and kyacks which were all free to use whenever we wanted.
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything we need.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Beach house on private beach.
Cons: You must rent a car.You can't get food without one. Nowhere to walk. Horribly hot even though it's spring.
Good 7.9
Pros: Gorgeous location right on the beach. Free rental of SUP and kayaks
Cons: Holes on the wall and insects, but it's a normal thing in Moorea
Excellent 9.2
Pros: - beach front near a reef that is a nice spot for snorkeling (we saw a big turtle) - provide kayaks - very nice garden and each bungalow feels private - very well equipped (washing machine, cooking tools, fridge, etc.) - staff is very nice (they prepared a fruit plate for our arrival, and a new flower was nicely put on our table every morning) - eating outside the bungalow on the wood-deck facing Tahiti island feels great
Cons: - extremely noisy in the morning: just next to the main road and the bungalow has "opened windows" (we woke up at 6 am every day) - small bathroom ; toilet faces the shower and there is no curtain, so everything is covered by water after use - there is only one bike - everything is quite far from the location (supermarket, bank, rental car, etc.)
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Most beautiful location right by the beach, free kayaks and paddle boards, very friendly staff
Good 6.0
Pros: The service at the unit was excellent. The view was spectacular. The accommodation was good. The bonus of the tricycle to get to the supermarket was much appreciated. The swimming and snorkelling was great but you had to be careful of the tides. The kayaks were great.
Cons: The traffic noise was annoying at times. Too many barking dogs in the area.
Good 7.1
Pros: Being away from the main stream hotels and being able to cater for ourselves. The ability to take a kayak out into the lagoon.
Cons: The very tight and winding stairs to the bedroom and the fact that the bathroom was down stairs. We were in the 2 bed property which backed on to the main road which is used day and night, Without any ability to shut windows (there were none) the noise tended to wake you. The other properties which were bungalows crowed out the view and access to the beach. One actually looked directly into where we were staying offering no privacy.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Friendly staff, reasonable prices (for French Polynesia), close to town and shops (5 min walk), good food, nice spacious and clean rooms, wifi is spotty, which I like as it forces you to enjoy being in paradise!
Cons: The beach area is quite small and the swimming areas don't even go up to your waste. Also, unless you are staying in an over water bungalow, there really aren't any ocean views, all you see from the beach/pool are the bungalows.
Good 6.7
Pros: Close to town and free kayaks
Cons: Poor customer service. Manager advised us of wrong ferry time which cost us over $60 in taxi fare. Hotel should have covered this mistake. Instead manager gave us attitude and said “oh well.” Cleaning staff did so so job.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Manava was low key and beautiful, perfect for our honeymoon. The overwater bungalow was amazing. Beautiful views, friendly staff, very well kept and clean property. Loved the pool and kayaks/paddleboards for guests to use. 10 Minute walk to nearby restaurants and shops, although these are overall limited on the island. Only wish the food at the resort restaurant was better and more reasonably priced. Staff was helpful in booking dinner reservations and excursions. Would recommend rudys restaurant, carmelines for breakfast, the atv tour and beginners scuba dive. Overall wonderful resort and would highly recommend!
Cons: Restaurant was overpriced, buffet was not great
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Beautiful room with swimming off the back deck. Walking distance to a town.
Good 6.7
Pros: Walking distance to town
Cons: Customer service is lacking. Manager told us wrong ferry time and took no responsibility for actions. We spent $60 in taxi fare that hotel should have covered. Manager just shrugged shoulders and said “oh well.” Poor customer service. Cleaning staff did so so job. Noisy rooms near street.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved our garden bungalow, the entire facilities and staff. Pool guys were so helpful with me as a beginner paddle boarder. Expensive food but that’s consistent with Tahiti
Good 7.0
Pros: Great location. Great pool Kids don't pay for food Got an early check in to the room The free canoe and snorkel The 2 dancing shows every week
Cons: The rooms are old and need renovation. The cleaning of the room is not perfect We had ants in our room all the 5 days we stayed there In the pool some broken dangers parts Breakfast was very poor. Not even 1 vegetable Every day same food and it didn't taste that good. The food in both restaurants was expensive and not that good Didn't feel like a 4 star hotel
Good 6.7
Pros: Walking distance to town with great restaurants, free use of kayaks and snorkel.
Cons: Customer service is severely lacking. Manager took no responsibility for telling us wrong ferry time which cost us $60 in taxi fares. When advised of situation, manager shrugged her shoulders and said “oh well.” Hotel should have covered that cost as gesture of good will. Also, we wanted to check out of one room (we had three) two days early and despite stating we could get a refund, staff arbitrarily changed mind. Cleaning staff did a so-so job.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Overwater bungalows outstanding. Staff extremely helpful, special thanks to Taraina.
Cons: Wasn’t offered check in until nearly 4pm - asked us to wait by pool then forgot us. First room was great until muddy water contamination arrived the next morning from Manaver building site on main driveway. Water was totally cloudy and coffe coloured. Thankfully, hotel responded well when we pointed this out to them, and moved us to another room. Still disappointing - first morning of the 2 we had, we couldn’t swim from our room, which was the point of paying for the overwater ones.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice hotel with good facilities.
Cons: Hotel feels old and could use some maintenance and an update.

Pros: Restaurants and bars fantastic and great pools.
Cons: Dolphins in small pool - feels quite sad. Hard to get info about activities and restaurants outside of the hotel.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The concierge service specially Josianne was very helpful to me In sunning my stay in Moorea
Cons: The wifi service was poor Frequent disconnections Interrupting my upload work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the floating pool dock that we could swim to from our room. The pool bar and snacks were amazing. The turtle sanctuary was fun to visit. Liked the outdoor shower too after snorkeling of our deck!
Cons: Snorkeling in front of our overwater bungalow was challenging due to currents. Might recommend to spend a little extra and get the Premium Overwater Bungalow if privacy is important to you.
Excellent 10.0
Cons: very detailed orientated arrangement got our check in/out and local transportation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Stingray,Shark and Motu Island excursion.Cultural show was alot of fun and having an opportunity to perform on the stage with the dancers. The underground Ahimia cooking buffet was delicious.Kayaking and paddle board inclusive in our accommodation rate was a bonus.Mahia in reception demonstrated some great dance moves to me in between serving clients preparing me for the cultural show. She has a beautiful heart and soul.Leo was very diligent and professional on the front desk and is a true asset to the hospitality industry.Celine in the snack bar was very friendly and efficient. All the staff were polite and friendly and made our stay safe and relaxing.
Cons: Everything okay.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staying in a premium over water bungalow is well worth the extra money here. It was fabulous. We stayed 3 nights overwater, 3 nights in a bungalow with a pool & one night in the main hotel part. Lots of activities & the concierge was very kind & helpful.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The infinity pool is not huge, but nicely positioned looking out on the lagoon. The concierge was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The water excursions are great but expensive. The setting is lovely.
Cons: We were there for Christmas when they had a very lavish buffet and performance. It was $150 per person, which was very expensive, especially for my 13 year old daughter. Also, I thought it showed a lack of class or greed/tourist gouging that they did not include just ONE alcoholic drink in that cover price - drinks were extra at $23/glass for champagne (for example).
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Awesome resort! We had an overwater bungalow - could do snorkling from the bungalow which was really nice. Beach was okay but not the best compared to other branches at Moorea. Although the bungalow seemed a bit worn. Breakfast was great. Food and beverages were a bit prizy but everything in French Polynesia is prizy. Kayak and paddle board were available free og charge. Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very close to the “swimming with rays & sharks” location. The resort to the ferry is far but transportation is available, including bus
Good 6.7
Pros: Over the water bungalow and easy access for snorkeling. Friendly staff!
Cons: The food was subpar, eat offsite whenever possible. Breakfast buffet was the only exception. Even made request to speak with someone at front desk regarding the resort Special, The Umete. No one contacted us back as promised. Terrible, do not order. The WiFi was not good at all, one bar if you’re lucky.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The hotel facility and the rooms, as well as the lagoon and sporting equipment and pools and beach were A+ amazing!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! We actually loved the room and plunge pool tremendously and the grounds were very well laid out.
Cons: The transit room, which we first came upon on arrival had paint peeling off the wall and wasn’t very appealing. The food at the restaurants was fine, but it was tiresome after 3 days. The staff were friendly and helpful but seemed uncomfortable with trying to make any accommodation outside the norm. My daughter fell and hurt her knee badly and I asked for a first aid kit and all they could produce was a bandaid.

Pros: Very cozy, comfortable and spacious lodge in a natural and very nice landscape. The cabins were all made of wood with a very original design. It is worth a try!!!!! Mark and the staff were very attentive to us. You can hire bikes and kayaks
Cons: 20 minutes by bike from the nearest beach. In the nearby market there were very few goods. To get some best market you have to ride 20 minutes by bike. (and the road it is not well illuminated)
Good 6.7
Pros: -Every single bungalow is made by Mark and they are all original and nice. -Mark is very helpful and will give you a lot of information about places of interest if you ask. -The garden is fantastic and each bungalow has a small table outside. - Mark and his son have good snorkeling masks to rent. -The bungalows has a fully equipped kitchen and a good shower. -It's easy to find and you have discounts for the ferry and car rental.
Cons: For the price that you pay, and Moorea is expensive compared to other parts of the world, the bungalows are nice, nothing bad. It's not super new but everything is cosy.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mark is so hospitable, warm and accommodating. He personally picked me up from the last ferry from Tahiti and then took me to a grocery store to buy groceries and food. He's passionate about ensuring his guests are fully taken care of and have the best experience. The houses are very well kept up, and they are so cheap given what you get. Bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and the villa has a living room with an indoor/outdoor area. Bugs were not a problem (I visited in winter) but they were when I was in Tahiti. I surfed Teahupoo before coming to Mark's Place. However, Hapiti is a GREAT wave to surf. You take one of Mark's canoe's out and tie it up to a buoy and you have a perfect left with friendly locals and a deeper reef. It's a left that can barrel when it get's big. I met so many awesome travelers at Marks place. I traveled alone but would be awesome to go back with a significant other. Expect a calm relaxing getaway with great people and great hospitality. Thanks Mark!!!
Poor 1.0
Pros: Beautiful garden with beautiful bungalow
Cons: We were verbally assaulted and physically threaten. Upon arrival, I was informed by the receptionist that the bungalow I had booked for my friend and I , was occupied, and that the only option left was a studio but that I would probably not like it. We decided to have a look and as she predicted we did not like it. Poor standard, sketchy apartment No mosquito screen, infested of mosquito Extremely hot, the ceiling was very low and one bed was right underneath Not very clean, very old and dirty appliance I told her that I was not satisfied at all and wanted to speak to the owner. She called him and handed me the phone. The owner started right off the bat to be rude and very unpleasant, and was not understanding my disappointment. I explained to him calmly that I booked a bungalow with a certain standard and that the studio was far from being that. The owner insisted that really it was no big deal and that I was getting a better one (bigger place) and then he started to criticize and insult french people and told me that I should go back to France I told him that I did not understand why he was saying all this and he replied I don't understand why you're not happy so I told him the place sucks, and then the owner completely lost it, he insulted me and said that he will beat me badly. When he arrived, he almost hit me, verbally attacked us with racist and homophobic insults and then again physically threaten us and asked us to leave. After 45 MIN I managed to calm him down and decided to stay (no other option around and very late) . The day after he passed by and did not even say hello nor apologize. Very unpleasant experience and unfortunately this is not the first time someone reports physical threat and verbal aggression.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: marks place is a paradise of a special kind in the midst of fantastic nature. Mark, a very helpful, kind and obliging friendly American, fulfills all wishes. He books the tours, makes recommendations and arranges everything. You can clearly feel that he wants to give the guests an unforgettable holiday. every house on the property looks different and all are wonderful. mark has lovingly translated every last detail. There is electricity, light, terraces, windows and so on in every corner. Mark built everything himself with much love. I have traveled a lot, but marks place is one of the nicest places to stay as the whole package of accommodation, nice people, beautiful nature is absolutely fantastic. I would like to mention that everything is absolutely clean, which I have not experienced anywhere on the island. I recommend marks place more than 100%
Cons: Really nothing
Good 7.1
Pros: The staff were incredible friendly, kind and helpful! They went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. Having free use of the bikes gave us some freedom to travel around. The grounds were very peaceful.
Cons: The mosquito nets on the windows had holes in them.
Good 7.1
Pros: Original
Cons: Bathroom entrance was outside of the room. Property is in the nature so be prepared for mosquitos and other insects. Old linen and towels.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely property Mark wonderful host facilities great just looking up at the layers of green mountains and trees amazing. When I found out my place did not have washing machine Mark offered laundry service for a small fee. Wish I was there right now!
Cons: Little lizard joined me in bed but another bed available in same room so we peacefully coexisted. My scream may have scared people in the next little house. Perhaps the legendary lizard of Moorea blessing me with his presence.
Mediocre 2.5
Pros: The facility was nice.
Cons: The place was just stunning. In its location but after witnessing Mark the owner commit a horrible act of animal cruelty I would never recommend anyome to got there.. He is fake and not nice to animals.. I saw him hit his dogs. And then saw him throw a tinny kitten.. Alive, into the forest in the poring rain to die.i was so disgusted I could a lost my mind.. If you like animals, do not go to this place.
Good 7.1
Pros: A very nice sleeping bungalow.
Cons: We didn't like the bathroom in our bungalow being seperate from the sleeping bungalow.

Pros: good location on beach , with 2 islands nearby that could be kayaked around, shops and restaurants nearby.
Cons: minimal fish anywhere, perhaps marine environment not being adequately protected. shabby water frontage , paint and bits concrete need tidying up , most importantly access and steps down to water need really good rails added.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Aloha ! The staff, Restaurant, Grounds, bungalows were beautiful and comfortable! The lagoon was excellent for swimming and location.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn’t like !!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Fantastic location - lovely swimming and right next to the Motu - its actually almost where the boat trips finish up for lunch - you can kayak back over to the Motu. Some little shops, a bank, ATM, scooter hire etc nearby
Cons: So pricey. This hotel seems to dominate the mid range hotel bracket - everything else is small pensions or big over water bungalow price killers. I moved to a pension that had the same quality of bungalow easily. But with Hibiscus i think youre paying for the location.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The position is great with the beautiful private beach. Corals in front of the beach give the possibility to do snorkeling. Close to the hotel there are some shops, restaurants, fuel, rents. A small paradise.
Cons: No complete silence, birds and animal sounds around the bungalows
Okay 5.8
Pros: Great location
Cons: Bungalow without AC was tough for us!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We didnt have the breakfast, but the restaurant food was lovely in the evenings, the location was good, the staff were nice , and it was good being able to leave our bags there until our pick up. We were very happy with the resort thankyou.
Cons: There was no fresh ice or cool water or milk for coffee, in the little fridge freezer which would have been really nice as it was pretty hot and there was no aircon .

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Front desk staff Moana was very helpful in recommending places for us to eat and things to do. The bungalows are well kept. This is a ways from the port where you come in by boat from Tahiti but it's in a nice area.
Okay 5.0
Pros: The restaurant dock is good to look out and see the fish, although food was not good and expensive.
Cons: Clean but old with no updates, poor view 90% of rooms can’t see water. 3 cockroaches I caught and threw outside. Ants were all over wooden desk. We will not be back to this motel.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Gorgeous location! Be sure to eat breakfast in the over-water restaurant!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great breakfast the over water restaurant location had stunning views of the mountains and the bay
Good 7.5
Pros: Friendly staff. Great location. Nice beach.
Cons: Having to pay additional to rent bikes.
Good 7.0
Pros: Sofia from the front desk was not only helpful but also super sweet
Cons: Pier could be set up differently for a better use of the space
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Good location in the bay with very nice view of the mountains. We could see a whale and small shark from the restaurant during breakfast. Small patio with chairs facing the bay allowed to hide from sunshine. Bungallows are located in a nice garden with palm trees. Very quiet place, 9 PM is like midnight. Possibility to rent a bike, easy ride around the bay or to local supermarket.
Cons: Hard to say
Good 6.3
Pros: I had a bungalow right next to the lagoon. It was nice. Bring your snorkeling gear, because there are many exotic fish in there. The location was also superb. The room was clean & bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: Beautiful setting in a quiet bay surtounded by spectacular mountains. But for that money I was expecting more. Small things like free bottled water or coffee making facility inside bungalow goes a long way to improve customer satisfaction. The breakfast I paid for consisted of only coffee & toasts. If you want a buffet, you pay extra. They've also taken off connection to the room light so I had to rely on bedside lamps - it was so dark I couldn't find stuff once the sun went down. Everything about this place is 'stingy' and you feel like you've been 'cheated'. To cut the cost even further, the person at the reception is also looking after the restaurant & bar.

Okay 5.4
Pros: You sleep in real beds (not bunks), bathrooms are clean, and you have access to free breakfast starting at 7 am. No A/C in the dorm, but you have your own electric fan.
Cons: You cannot reach this place (or any in Moorea away from the ferry or the airport, as a matter of fact, and to be fair), without arranging your own transportation, or hiring a VERY expensive taxi. Stores to buy food are also far away/over 30 minutes walking. A ride from the airport to the pension was 3000 XPF ($30 USD!) for a 10-15 minute ride. I got a ride offered by one of the tour operators stopping at the airport for half that price, but the pension owner refused to cancel the taxi (!), and I was stuck taking it. A taxi ride that cost more than the price of the pension per night, when you are on a tight budget. :( Also, I had lost my passport in the plane, and was desperately trying to call Air Tahiti to help me locate it, without much success due to poor connection via Skype, and the expensive call of .50 USD / minute eating up all my air time. The owner then "offered to help" place the call... STILL FROM MY COMPUTER (as if I did not know how to operate it). He did not once offer to call from his local phone (as it has been the case with EVERY single local person I have met all over French Polynesia, except this place). When I asked him if I could use his phone to call another local number, he looked extremely uncomfortable, and diverted the question/did not help me. Not sure how much it costs to place a local phone call within French Poly, but apparently, it was a huge amount to this person. It seems that anything requested outside of the regular check-in and out process would be seen as a big imposition. The reception is not open continuously (there are several breaks in between the day, so if you need something, you might not find anyone to help), but you can access the sleeping facilities, the tables, and the bathroom day and night. Overall, I would say sleep here only if you are looking for a "cheap" place to crash and have absolutely no other option. Best if you book EARLY on an AirBnB and arrange for pick-up, etc.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Amazing location next to beach. Free kayaks were amazing. The restaurant served great breakfast and dinner.
Cons: No refrigerator. No air conditioning
Good 7.1
Pros: Free kayaks, simple breakfast included in price and you could walk to the supermarket in 45 minutes one way
Cons: As others already have said in the ratings there is no kitchen. No common area where backpackers can hang out. As soon as their restaurant closes all lights are switched off (after 8) so bring a head lamp if you want to sit by the water. Otherwise you have the dorm or your bungalow to hang out
Okay 5.0
Pros: Nice water access and Tahitian style living. Lady who works there was also helpful.
Cons: Room had many sugar ants which is understandable. The man who works there is nice but provided in accurate information about the bus schedule and charged me 300 CFP for a coffee refill. Thought that was unreasonable.
Good 7.0
Pros: If you’re fine for camping style, sharing the room with cute geckos and mosquitos, a bird time to time flying in the dorm, it is perfect. Crabs living everywhere on Moorea. At night the fans help and it’s not too hot at all, and the location is perfect to watch the sea life right from breakfast or the dock. Octopus, sting rays, black tip reef sharks, eels, fish.... it’s incredible and that made it worth it all. Being able to snorkel right from the dock and see everything tours offer. Plus nice public beach down the road next to Hilton.
Cons: The location in that it’s a bit of a hike to the nearest supermarket, but a beautiful walk (if you didn’t rent a car like me or want to pay a ridiculous amount of money to rent a bicycle for the day). The staff isn’t exactly the most friendly, but the woman who did breakfast was nice to me everyday. They charged 300 francs for a refill of coffee and no kitchen. So if you’re there for awhile you can make tuna or peanut butter sandwiches right on the dock if you don’t want to eat at the restaurant everyday three times a day.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The bungalow itself is ok. Confortable bed. Location is good.
Cons: The owner and the people who run it just don’t care about anything at all. We stayed at the garden bungalow, which was supposed to be ok if the owner takes care of the place but doesn’t. The room is full of bugs, the towels look like they’re from 1999, staff are ignorant, only one lady is friendly and helpful. All the bad reviews here are completely accurate. Only stay here if you don’t mind seeing a lot geckos and bugs in your room. Never met the owners but they have got to be the most arrogant people who don’t care about their guests at all. What a shame, the place actually quite decent if being taken care of amd maintained.
Good 7.0
Pros: 15 min walk to Hilton Luxus hotel. Good value for price. Free kayaks. Nice beach bungalow with beach view. Affordable.
Cons: Staff wasn't the friendliest, English skills not great, neee to speak French. Location: No restaurants around, 40min walk to closest supermarket. Bring food and water, they charge 380 for a bottle of water which is $5 NZD. They have a restaurant but food is quite basic and some meals are the same price as the hilton restaurants. Can't drink tap water.
Good 6.0
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. View was beautiful. Room was a good size.
Cons: The breakfast was very basic just 3 pieces of fruit and a couple of pieces of French stick toasted. There was no choice about what you had. Some nights there was a lot on the menu that they didn't have it was very poor. 4

Pros: Unbeatable location, good value restaurant.
Cons: Roosters and chooks, I even saw staff feeding them despite requests for guests not to feed them. They kept us up quite a few nights. They don't just crow at sunrise, it's all night. Ok for staff, I guess they go home!
