Top tips for hiring a car at Colorado Springs airport

  • Colorado Airport (COS) has many ground transfer options to the city center, but none provides an excellent travel experience as a Colorado Springs Airport rental car when it comes to comfort, convenience, freedom, luxury, and flexibility. Freedom of movement to any spot in the city at any given time is the primary advantage of renting a vehicle from a car rental at Colorado Airport (COS). Whether you'd like to access the Creekside Event Center for business or US Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, you can do so straight from the airport. Additionally, a rental car is always at its peak performance, thanks to its regular maintenance and safety checks.
  • When traveling with family members or business colleagues, there may be more than one driver in the car holding a driving license. However, that doesn’t mean you have to take turns behind the steering wheel. Unless unavoidable, drive the rental by yourself until the last day you return it to your preferred rental company. If you plan to use an additional driver, kindly check the terms and conditions of the rental contract or consult with your rental agency.
  • Is your flight departure in a few hours, and you have to return your rental vehicle? Your car rental at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) provides a straightforward car return procedure. Follow the overhead signs leading to the car rental stations and complete the return procedure with your agent. Perhaps you have a late flight departure and you have to return the car during the after-hours; simply park the vehicle in the designated parking lot and lock it. Complete the contract and toss the car keys in the drop box situated in the returns section.
  • You won't find driving in Colorado Springs that difficult, but you can expect some bottleneck sections as you advance toward the city center in the morning. The rush hour starts at around 6 am, although many people start commuting to work before then. Traffic gets heaviest from 6.30 am to around 8.30 am and from around 4 pm to 6 pm, and we recommend that you drive during the off-peak hours to enjoy fairly moving traffic.
  • Book your car hire at Colorado Springs airport at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price

FAQs about renting a car at Colorado Springs airport

  • Where are car rental operators located at Colorado Airport (COS)?

Onsite car rental companies are conveniently nestled in the baggage claim area. Some are located along Milton E Proby Parkway, and the vehicles are available onsite in the nearby parking lot. Other alternative car rental operators are located along 232 N Circle Drive. They are off-site companies that are more likely to have lower-than-airport prices and offer courtesy shuttle services from the flight hub's arrival terminal.

  • What requirements are there when renting a vehicle at Colorado Airport (COS)?

For a car rental at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) agent to rent out a vehicle, the renter must be 21 years and above and have a valid-government-issued driver's license. However, you can expect to incur underage surcharges if you're aged between 21 and 24 years, with a limited range of car models and types to choose from. Additionally, you'll need to present a sufficiently funded credit/debit card issued under your name by a recognized financial institution.

  • Can I rent a car at Colorado Airport (COS) without a credit card?

Fortunately, you can rent a car from the Colorado Airport (COS) company without a credit/debit card, although some terms and limitations come with that. The car rental at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will require you to give a certain amount as a down payment. Therefore, you must stow sufficient funds for your vehicle rental and the related insurance cover. Most rental agencies limit the type and brand of car you can rent without a credit card to mostly economy cars and standard sedans.

  • Which car rental companies will pick you up at Colorado Springs airport?

Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Colorado Springs airport to off-airport locations include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz, and National.

Poor first experience renting a vehicle from Budget. The gentleman whom checked me in was very bland and unhelpful. He gave me a much larger vehicle that was terrible to maneuver around Colorado Springs. He acted liked he was doing me a God-given favor. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Budget check-in was kinda grumpy. And worst part was the gas funnel was defective, it took 20 minutes to pump gas cause it was getting stuck in filler. My hand and arm had to work hard to pump the gas each time. And the car was only filled 3/4 of a tank!

Beware. About a week after our return we received a letter igniting we would be charged $450 because the exterior of the car was too dirty. $450 to wash a car???? We were caught in rain and drove on a dusty gravel road. The Jeep was a 4x4. The interior of the car was returned in spotless condition. There was no damage to the exterior, etc. It was dirty. Beware.

I asked for an all wheel drive vehicle and was not given one which I was not aware of until getting stuck. For the rest of my time I could not drive up to my accommodations and had to have elderly travel companions walk up a snow covered icy driveway several times due to the fear of getting stuck again. Both of them fell. Given the conditions of my travel in the mountains of CO the vehicle was inadequate.

Terrible! Mike at Colorado Springs airport cancelled my reservation at the desk after I complained about having to pay additional coverage! I then had to go online and make another reservation. Went back to Mike and he then proceeded to tell me that it was rare to get same day reservations and that the only car available was an electric car. The car was a nightmare to charge and kept showing all sorts of malfunction alerts, I returned it early. Never again!
