Cons: Prepaid order was canceled by the rental and and a new agreement setup at the location. Not only was this more expensive, they put an additional $200 hold on my debit card. When we noticed, we called Hertz customer care. They didn't know how to address the issue and we were hung up on multiple times. When we called the location there was no answer. Kind of ruined our tightly budgeted vacation. I'll never use Hertz again.

Did not have car we reserved
Pros: The lady at the counter was as helpful as she could be. When the company made the reservation they made it for one that was not at the airport (even though we flew into the airport). We ended up with a much smaller car then we ordered due to price because "they couldn't give it to us for our original price". Even though they were the ines who messed up

Accuracy over Efficiency
Pros: Easy cancellation process
Cons: I specified the LAX airport in my original booking and when I had the reservation rebooked to include the certificate I was not notified the original reservation was incorrect and that they were keeping the same incorrect pick up and drop off location. I ended up spending $300 more bc I had to get the walk in rate and spent unnecessary time at the Hertz location sorting out your error.

Wrong Pick Up Location
Cons: Kayak set the pick up location to be 3 miles away from the airport, which in LA is a $20 Uber. Luckily, Hertz let us cancel the reservation free of charge so that we could rebook a Hertz car at the airport

Pros: Car was clean
Cons: Facility was under-staffed
Long wait to pickup/dropoff
Pros: The customer service was really good. Raena was excellent. No hard sell on insurance. I have my own excess cover so just showed her that. They gave a small discount when i said smoking smell in the car. But atleast acknowledged it.
Cons: The car was really basic. For an suv. I atleast expected the seats to be adjustable for height.!!!. The car smelled of smoke which was very annoying as i had kids. The company should run a no smoking policy if they already dont. If they do they should valet the car appropriately.
The change oil sign was on full time, however the car worked fine. They could do by a drop off / pick up service for international customers.

Above and beyond to make sure that I was taken car
Pros: Much larger vehicle for the economy rate, and allowed me to drop off at the airport, even though they were a neighborhood location.

Pros: They dropped the ball but compensated us for the troubles.
Cons: We reserved a car through kayak and even received a confirmation call from enterprise and when we arrived they didn't have the car we wanted available (convertible). They didn't have any cars available for us besides a pick-up truck which would have been a miserable choice for the road trip we were taking. We had to wait 3 hours before anything options were available which significantly delayed out trip.
