I got a cancellation notice the day before. I called them to see if I could get a different truck, and the call center rep said it was confirmed to pick up and not canceled. When I showed up, they said it was in fact canceled and I couldn’t get the truck. Nearly derailed vacation plans.

What I did like was the counter attendant, Dan, good guy, easy to work with. The first car I was supposed to rent had an overpowering smell of marijuana. I spoke with Dan and he quickly got me another vehicle. Much appreciated his help

Waited 90 min in line to pick up a car, even though I prepaid. Oil maintenance light came on 400 miles into my trip. I called Payless and I was told to get car serviced and save my receipts. Not and ideal situation during a vacation. We will see if I actually get reimbursed….

When I arrive to pick up my vehicle, a pick up truck. Was not available. I called the 800 number and was sent to another location that they said had one, they did not. This caused a major problem for me. The only redeeming factor was that the gentleman at the Stony Brook location was extremely polite and helpful. I don’t intend to ever rent with Avis in the future.

I reserved a car, paid for a ride to the airport to pick up the car, there was no car available, the staff was rude and indifferent, they suggested that I sit in the airport for up to eight hours, waiting for a car to become available, they also couldn’t guarantee that a car would become available, I paid for a ride back to my home from the airport. I spent 60 bucks to get back-and-forth from the airport and I did not get a car. I can’t imagine how this could be worse. And I can’t imagine that Avis cares

No car was available. The desk person said she would have called to tell me, but, according to her, I didn’t enter a phone number on my reservation. She then read my phone number to me off of her piece of paper and didn’t even bother to apologize for the over sight.

Luxury SUV

Went to rental office and no SUVs were available. We had already waited an hour in line and had to leave the office. Went to the airport and had to pay full price for an suv rental. The car had not been cleaned. It drove well. Staff was nice at the airport Avis facility.
