Don't rent an EV unless you are familiar with the charging network and or stay in town. My brother who owns and is familiar with EVs said the network doesn't look great around Asheville and laughed when i told him what the rental agent told me about charging it at a house... He said it would've taken 2 days on 110v

Generally expect a long line and long wait time if renting after arrival. Allow For more time driving in the area than gps estimates.

Don’t use Budget and take a ride share away from the airport to a different rental car location to avoid such a huge line.

The guys did not have the car ready even when the flight was delayed 30’ . They said 15-20 minutes but I did not have that time as I had to make an important business meeting. I said I need any car now I don’t care if it’s smaller or bigger , they offered me a bigger car but said I have to pay !! Ridiculous so I had no choice but to paid for an upgrade when they had no car ready at the time of my reservation which was 1:30pm or even 1:50pm. Bad bad experience

Budget closed out the bill 30 hours after we dropped off, resulting in several hundred dollars of extra charges. I had to call for an adjustment but have to wait 5-7 business days for a case manager to review the case, even though it was clearly a mistake on the part of Budget.

Everything was fine except for the condition of the car. The car was given to me filthy with sand in the front and back seats. I expect when I rent a car, that it’s cleaned prior to being rented out. Otherwise, everything else was good. Thank you.

Despite having no cars available/clean/ready to rent, Budget continued to take reservations for new car rentals. The guy at the counter said it would be "at least 30 minutes" til a car was ready but could offer no more details. I asked how many people were ahead of me and he said 15! There were many people there who had waited much longer than 30 minutes. I finally got a call about a car 2+ hours later. By then I had already given up and taken a taxi to my hotel, and a taxi to dinner. The rental ended up costing me $50 more than it should have due to the costs of the taxis and a lot of unnecessary hassles. I will not rent from Budget again.

Upon reading Google reviews of the Avis in my area I canceled my reservation and called Enterprise directly. They were a little more expensive but they had the car ready and there was no nonsense. I will know in the future book direct from them and not risk not having a vehicle ready and waiting hours arguing with employees who shouldn’t be employed but can’t be fired because there is no one to replace them who wants to take a job with horrible pay

Not having an electric vehicle. It was very stressful finding charge stations and the time needed to complete a charge. We had one weekend to enjoy a wedding. 13 hours of it was sitting at a charge stations. There are very few level 3 stations - so HOURS are needed at a level 2.

It was easy to reserve online. The staff were friendly and helpful at the counter. The car was clean and comfortable and had great gas mileage. I thought the $500 deposit for using a debit card was excessive, but it was refunded when I turned the car back in. It was easy to extend the rental by calling. The main issue I had wasn't due to Dollar car rental. The company is located in the Asheville airport and it was confusing trying to find the counter. There was no parking available because traffic has to keep moving in front of the airport, so when I got dropped off to pick up the car my friend had to keep circling around until I let him know that I had secured a rental. It's a good walk from the counter to the parking deck where the rentals are located. The day before I returned the car, I had to go to the rental counter to show them my temporary license since the license I originally gave them expired in the middle of the rental. There was nowhere to park and when I tried to park in the parking deck so I could run over and give them my license, the parking deck attendant asked a lot of questions and seemed confused about what I was doing. I had to keep explaining until he understood so he would allow me to park there temporarily. This could have been avoided if there was a better parking situation, or if they had allowed me to email or text a copy of my temporary license.

Easy pick up and return. Price was good. Friendly service. Next time I’ll request a car with a higher seat …. A sporty car sits too low for my body.
