If you’re navigating the busy, narrow streets of Jerusalem, a small, compact car is a solid option. If you’re heading towards the Mediterranean coast, a mid-sized sedan with good fuel efficiency is probably the best option as it offers more comfort and space for longer journeys. A convertible can be a fun way to cruise the coast when the weather allows it.
The speed limit within city limits is usually 60 km/h (31 mph), but it may lower in certain residential areas, so keep an eye out for posted signs. Undivided intercity highways have a speed limit of 80 km/h (50 mph), and divided intercity highways observe a limit of 90 km/h (56 mph). Major freeways allow you to drive at speeds of 90-110 km/h (56-68 mph).
Street parking is usually limited to two hours and is free on weekends. The system is regulated by colors: red and white-painted curbs indicate that parking is forbidden, grey-marked streets are free, and blue and white curbs require payment. When visiting the Old City, it’s best to leave the car at the Karta garage in Mamilla, close to the Jaffa Gate.

Cons:
Taking the deposit in full and having to wait days for it to be returned is a massive pain and the rental agent has the power to decide how much to return with you unable to discuss it with them. No feedback on the return of deposit8.0 Very Good

I ordered a Mitsubishi Grandis. They gave me a smaller car, no air conditioning in the back seats, in the summer, without telling me this ahead of time. When I realized it, I informed them, but they said it was after the 3 hour window from the time I took the car, so was charged for 1 day.3.6 Poor

Pros:
Unhelpful staff, disorganized and rude.Cons:
Car wasnt ready, rental process was too long and tedious, couldnt rent for 24 hrs as normal, because office was closed next day for elections. Understand that is a holiday, but they need to make accommodations and plan ahead for this instead of telling customers they need to return the car in 5 hrs.One location in Jerusalem

Cons:
An hour after we got the car, I noticed snuck on the glass of the windshield. I didn't want to notify Hertz because surely they would blame us. We hoped they wouldn't notice upon return. Well, they did, and of course didn't believe we didn't do it. We have CDW from our credit card company, but going home, so have to pay up front of new windshield and do time consuming claim with Chase Bank. Big nuisance, and not our fault. Our downfall was not thoroughly inspecting the windshield at time of rental.8.0 Very Good

They're operating a bait and switch. They lure you in with a low rental cost, then charge you 1.5X more in mandatory insurance than the car costs. I expect they make far more money on the insurance than on the rental fee.8.4 Very Good
