Pros: Found I had reserved the car at a different location than the airport in Jackson, MS. Clerk could not transfer the reservation to the airport location. I would have had to take a cab to the other rental location. I had to call and cancel the reservation and make a new reservation at the airport. Originally I had booked online through Kayak.
When I got to the garage to pick up my car, they were out of economic cars. They upgraded me to a Ford Expedition. It was a tank for one person. The weather was bad so it worked out.

Pros: The van drove well.
Cons: The Service Rep was not friendly. The van was dirty and had a smell.

Pros: Customer service was excellent - car was brand new and drove great. All around great experience.
Pros: I like that the counter representative was very helpful in getting my vehicle situation figured out. I like that he was able to get some of my money back.

Cons: Kayak should tell people about the rental car policies. It's not as easy as it sounds, especially if you don't have a credit card. Sins rental car places don't take debit cards, and the ones that do run a credit check. If your credit is bad, they turn you away. Kayak need another layer that checks for that before booking .. I wasted my time going to the car rental place to learn I could not get a rental car or pay a hefty hold fee.

Pros: The customer service is fine
Cons: I had 2 separate rental cars with mechanical issues, causing me to spend over 12 hours of my trip dealing with trying to get a new rental car. And when I brought this to the attention of the company, I was only offered a 10% off my next rental.

Rental office ran out of cars, sent me to a airpor
Cons: Hertz called me the day of the rental and told me they didn't have any cars at their office. Directed me to their airport location. I was assured by the office that the reservation would transfer over. I called the hotline to confirm. Lady said it was now $180 instead of $120. Then she told me she would fix it. Got to the airport and it was $180. They refused to change it. Terrible service.

Pros: counter staff very polite and helpful.
Cons: Car was so low end did not have side mirror adjustment inside car. had to stop along highway to manually try to set the mirrors. not so bad on the driver side, but a real p[ain and not very safe on the passender side (without a passenger to help.
Pros: Dollar in Jackson no longer staffs their night shift.
I arrived at 9:25pm for an agreed upon 10:00pm pickup and no one was at the counter or anywhere else in affiliation with Dollar. The Hertz rep (who a future a Dollar phone rep would tell me to go see) told me that the Dollar rep had left at 3:45pm and that there hadn't been a night shift Dollar person lately. No one rented me a car and I had to pay 3x as much with a different company. I'll never use Dollar again.
Cons: I didn't like... my reservation not being honored and having to play over $100 more for a less than two day reservation to a different company for a last second rental because the local Dollar office failed to hire anyone to work for night shifts.

Pros: Nothing to like.
Cons: No attendant was there to check me in. Had to go with Hertz.

Who is on duty?
Cons: No one was working at the desk until 12 noon on day of return. Refueled the vehicle but was charged a refuel service fee.
Windows were dirty. No one on duty to check vehicle on leaving facility. No one on duty when returning vehicle. Pick up and return was approximately 9:00 AM.

Misleading size description
Pros: The staff members at the desk in the terminal were helpful and courteous.
Cons: The car was listed as suitable for 5 adults, but it was a Ford Fiesta, which was not large enough for 5 adults to be comfortable. A car model was not given, so I did not know this until I was in the garage. There is poor signage to tell you where the Dollar cars are- I rent from this airport regularly and had to walk around clicking the key fob until I found it. And there was no one checking-in the cars as people returned, so I had to go back into the terminal and turn in paperwork at the desk before I could proceed to my flight.
