Excellent all around. Very friendly at pickup and drop off. Finally got the chance to drive a Tesla and it was so much fun. Plan your trip accordingly though as limited supercharging stations in Nova Scotia depending on where you are going.

Pick-up and drop off was great. Inside of the car was dirty and we had to put air in all four tires which should not be required for a 10 day rental costing close to $90/day. The attendant provided a $50 refund which was acceptable I suppose. Would have happier with a little more than that.

Pick up was great -- staff at the Halifax airport desk were friendly and quick. Drop off was the easiest and fastest we've ever experienced in 30 years of travel. And the staff member who checked us in was very personable and polite. Will absolutely use Avis again for our next trip. Thanks for the great service!

Staff was great, car was garbage. Dirty windows inside, but more importantly the car had bald tires which made a horrible vibration. It became noticeable once we were on the highway, and became worse during the week to the point that it was unsafe to drive.

There was an extra $138 charged to my Visa. The experience of brining the car back was quite lovely, the clerk was very friendly and nice but she did not say a word about any extra expenses being put on my bill, she simply handed me a triple folded receipt and said have a great holiday season. The next day when I pulled the receipt out of my purse I saw the total charged to my account. Needless to say, I will NOT be using them again.

I had no problem changing cars. The first one that I got had problem with slow leak in one of the tires. Later when I had to extend the rental period due to rescheduled flights (by the airline), I had to call more than 3 times because no-one answered those calls and no agent returned my calls despite leaving a message and my phone number. Once I got through to an agent, I had no problem.

Amazing customer service and I was so happy to get a free upgrade when the car I reserved required an oil change. The assistant was extremely fast with paperwork and didn't hesitate to "make it right" for me :)

We did not even get a car. I thoroughly read the fine print on the website, that clearly stated that a 'credit or debit card in the renters name must be presented'..no problem! My husband & I have chosen to get rid of our credit cards as we no longer desire living in debt, so as an added step of assurance after booking, I called the number listed on the site. I was very clear that I would be picking the car up in Halifax Nova Scotia, which is obviously in Canada. The booking number I provided also would show that my location was in Canada. The gentleman reassured me multiple times that I would NOT need a credit card to pick up the car. We head to the airport to pick up the car (over $120 is wasted taxi money!!) only to be told that a credit card is required. When I advised the clerk of my conversation with the Enterprise rep on the phone, she simply stated 'oh, that's only ìn the United States'. Absolutely ridiculous that a company as huge as Enterprise cannot figure out how to properly separate the 2 countries on their website. Something as simple as 'Click here for CDN', nevermind the fact that I actually spoke with a paid employee of a continent-wide company who doesn't seem to know basic Geography. Thankfully there are now apps for personal car rentals from people who do not discriminate against those of us who choose to live debt free. If you are going to have different rules for different countries, then make that crystal clear & stop misleading innocent people. If I ever do get a credit card in the future, I certainly won't be using Enterprise to rent a car.

The advertised price was $32 per day - no mention of insurance. When I collected the car I paid over $80. Insurance alone was $42. These hidden charges are bad. $80 per day for a car is excessive.

Car rentals always end up costing more than the initial quote. It would be helpful to provide all additional options/charges up front. Having said that the staff at pick-up and return were very friendly; we got an upgrade, and the car was spotlessly clean. Would definitely book again. The clincher was rushing back to the car when I realized I’d lost my wallet when we got to the check-in area at departures….to hear the attendant we’d dropped the car off with saying “hear she is” and returning my wallet (with ID needed for travel) with a smile!

Just didn't know where to drop off keys at 5.30 a.m. at the airport. Had to go into the terminal to ask. First time dropping a car so early. But found it. A sign would have been nice. Or maybe I missed it. 🤔

The Halifax Pickup location only had one Customer Service Representative serving a line of nearly 50 customers. I arrived half an hour early from my reserved pickup time and I did not leave until 2 hours later. How can Hertz not afford another CSR to assist customers when I am paying over $200 a day for an economy class vehicle.

Yes the staff was helpful and polite. Most notably the return was exceptionally quick and easy.

Cons:

More counter help. The customer in front of me asked EVERY question imaginable and some that were unimaginable and then of course the attendant was trying to up sell. Sorry but the last thing you want to do after a long day of traveling is to wait in line unnecessarily. Once they got done our transaction went smoothly and we were on our way.
