Jackie took care of me and got me into my car quickly with an assist from Fernando who helped from home on his day off. The car was clean and in perfect condition. That's the kind of service I've grown accustomed to from Economy. They work hard to provide great service. Thanks huys.

There was an unnoticed clause that said I couldn't get a refund, so when a snowstorm changed flights, I had to pay for the car even though I wasn't in San Diego to drive it. I don't think I'll use Kayak again.

Bait and switch. They forced me to take insurance even though I'm fully covered. They wouldn't give me the car without agreeing. Ended up costing 3x more than quoted. To be fair, even at that price, it was a competitive rate.

They didn't have the cargo van I reserved and wanted to charge a lot more the two things they had in stock were not good either bad breaks or check engine light on I didn't want either of those so opted not to get from them and went to a different rental and got what I needed just paid a lot more due to lack of notice.

Car we reserved was not available when we arrived and I was still required to pay more for the vehicle I got. The vehicle we got had the worst stench of cigarettes. * give us the car we got for the same price as the one reserved * make sure cars are clean before the are rented.

Cons:

It’s not located at the airport where you can ride the car rental shuttle bus. I did not see that when booking, however, it’s a very short taxi/Uber ride there & it save me over $75/day on the car rental rate for a much better car. Well worth it!

Got in to the airport at 5:45. Apparently they close at 5:30pm. What kind of a rental car place closes? People depend on it. Horrible! Had to rent a car from someone else.

When I booked this rental, the description showed the rental center was off-site as were all the other major rentals, Avis, Budget, Dollar, etc. What WASN’T revealed until our plane landed was that a 2nd shuttle from the rental center was required. That shuttle dropped us at an office located through a garage into a grimy building with all vacant offices except the U-Save rental office. After completing the paperwork (which included a statement that there would be no price adjustments if the vehicle was returned early- which we did after experiencing the multi- shuttle issue), we had to walk down a hill to a parking garage to get the car. The vehicle itself, a Toyota Corolla, (these are now “standard”, not “compact”) was a brand new hybrid and worked well except for the 1 trip we took with all 5 of our party - a bit cramped. When we decided to return the car early to avoid the dual shuttle situation on our departure day, we were directed to wait in the dark, grimy garage for the shuttle to return. 5 other folks arrived with their luggage also. After waiting around 10 minutes, we decided to Uber back to the hotel. We trudged the 1/2 block up the hill from the garage (we’re 72 and 83 years old) , where the shuttle would have been also, and got an Uber with no problem. The Uber pulled up at the same time as the shuttle - which was a 7 passenger mini-van - it would’ve been a tight squeeze. Bottom line - decent car but not worth the aggravation. Spend a few more dollars for a name brand company. I wish we had.

U Save is not at the SD airport rental car area (which you already have to take a shuttle to). It is offsite from there and you have to call the company for their shuttle to take you. This was not noted anywhere in the rental information and we only found out when we arrived at the main rental car area and found it missing. We waited about 10min for the U Save shuttle after calling the company- not bad. The car itself was fine but the process was a little inconvenient as we had to take 2 shuttles to get the car. Then after returning the car, had to take 2 shuttles to get back to the airport (the U Save shuttle took about 10min to arrive, so again not too bad). Even with the savings, I probably would’ve skipped this company knowing what I know now, as I was traveling with 2 young kids and my elderly parents.

I couldn’t rent the car. Their machine to check my passport was not working at all Plus the price they asked me was 3 times bigger than what the site said. Emoloyer was pretty rude Very very bad I wasted my time

Ace had great pricing and pickup and drop off was quick and easy. Jenny helped us check in and was very nice and helpful. She gave my wife and I several restaurant recommendations while we were in town for the weekend. Car was nothing special and drove a little bit run down, but it was fine for the few days we used it. Would use them again because of the customer service, ease of booking, and value.

Pickup process took an hour. Had to wait outside in the cold while they checked in another customer. Then I returned it on its due date and tried to check another car using a new reservation with a better rate but they would not honor the new rate.

Cons:

The company advertises unlimited mileage, however the rentals have major mileage restrictions. Rentals can only be driven locally and the rate is $.99/mile after 200 miles.

Pacific charged me twice as much as they estimated on Kayak. If that had been the extent of it, I may have left it alone. The day after I returned my car, however, the manager called to tell me that there is a "new scratch" on the front bumper. The car they rented to me was already scratched up, so I assumed he had gotten something confused and I could simply send the pictures I had snapped of the car before driving away from the lot. He sent me pictures of a car I'm not convinced is the car I rented, with a big scratch in the bumper, and asked that I have my lawyer call him. I have never felt so mistreated by a company. I'm certain that I had nothing to do with a scratch in the car I rented, and after consulting Yelp I noticed that Pacific has pulled this same stunt with at least one other customer. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

Not busy. Car was there, ready to go.

Cons:

Car was old and had a lot of miles. It sounded as if it needed a tune up. Car had lots of scratches and dings. Didn't like that I had to catch a bus from the airport, a rental car center, then take another van to their rental place- added another layer of traveling around and loading/ unloading.
