maintenance light issue
Pros: The gal at the counter was extremely helpful and very sympathetic to me regarding the situation. The gal at the garage pickup was also helpful in that she held my luggage while I went back in to the terminal.
Cons: I picked up the car...checked it over.... heading to attendant to give them the slip before leaving and the maintenance light came on.
Though everyone was friendly and helpful, it was frustrating that I had to then repeat the entire process .... return the car, go back inside to the terminal, get another contract, keys etc. and return to the garage for another car. Had I been in a hurry for an appointment .... THIS additional 35 minutes would have made me LATE.

No available size car I rented
Cons: They didn't have the size car I rented nor did they upgrade me. They tried to give me a much smaller car and when I said that wouldn't work they said I would have to stick around the airport til A car came in that I could use.

Pros: I liked that the people working for Payless were very nice to me and quick to get me a car that was clean, easy to operate and well priced. They were friendly at the counter, got me on the road quickly with clear instructions. I'd use them again.

Pros: Budget's check in & out process was very efficient.
Cons: Seats were not a adjustable for comfort. There was no room for luggage, we had to fold down one of the back seats to make room for 5 persons luggage. There were no handles for assistance in getting in & out of the van. The seats did not fold down easily or move forward to assist with person who had to get to the 3rd row seat. The dash was so large and the sunlight reflected off of it and made difficult driving. Also, metal pieces on steering wheel reflected the sunlight. The visor had no coverage in the upper left corner, which at the time of day we were traveling, the sun came right through the corner. There was no way to easily adjust it for full coverage. There were no cubby holes in the dash area for storing items like phones, sunglasses, etc. The tires were small for this size vehicle and did not handle grooved roadways well at all. I felt like the back end was fish tailing. I would not recommend renting this if travel is the reason. If I need a mini van for future travel needs, I will make sure it is not a Ford Transit.

Pros: After picking he best car available ( Chrysler 300S ) the car was delivered still wet from a POOR wash job. the driver just left it, with no advise or information on how to opporate it. Not even opening the trunk. Very poor service.
The car itself was great.

I rented a luxury class car for I just had back surgery last week Nov 19Th. When we returned the car to the budget lot, the check-in girl was very pleasant in telling me where to park,Back of the lot. Then told us the directions to get to the terminal . It was very cold and windy and "just a little walk" maybe three blocks or more to the gate.Pulling our luggage I told her we needed a ride, Which she said she didn't have help to do that.
With service like this I will never rent from Budget again
I hope you can do better with other Senior customers.

If your flight is delayed, Budget doesn't care.
Cons: The OMA airport Budget rep will gladly give away the car you reserved if your flight is more than 2 hours delayed. And they'll be happy to offer any option they have left at the same price, instead of offering a discount for a vehicle you don't want. I walked over to the Hertz counter and they apologized for my inconvenience and the rude behavior of the Budget representative and offered me a better price at the size/style I originally reserved through Budget. Guess who gets my business going forward?

Cons: I felt like I was in the Seinfeld skit about taking the reservation but not holding the reservation.
Pros: The Omaha team was efficient, in and out the door with reasonable expectation of selling you insurance and the works.
Cons: The interior of the car smelled terrible and the front windshield looked as though it was cleaned with a mop. Car's dash was also throwing a low tire error that should have been adjusted prior to me having to ask.

Cons: Would not let me pay for rental car with a debit card because I did not have a major credit card. The rental of pr-insured by my normal insurance, and I had already paid for Enterprises separate insurance as well.
I even live locally.
Yet, someone from Argentina could pay debit so long as they had a flight into Omaha (where I was renting from)

Pros: Nice car. Smooth ride. Drop off was great. Staff asked rating 0-10. I gave a 9/10. When she asked why not 10/10 i told her the below and she waived our fuel charges. Staff very nice all around from pick up to drop off
Cons: Rec'd no explanation of the forms i was signing. I was told "sign here, here, and here. Initial here and here" but was not told what/why i was signing except "it releases us from liability". Car not as clean as id expected. Found trash that wasnt ours under the seat when we were returning the car. I figured it would have been easy to see when they cleaned the car out prior to our renting. Was not told anything about fuel charges.

Cons: I found a GREAT deal on Alamo. A pickup with unlimited mileage for $479.39 round trip. The day I was to pick up my vehicle I was told by the rep that the vehicle had been recalled and that we were to go to Avis. The rep didn't offer us a different vehicle or anything. He did say we would be refunded the difference. I went to Avis as directed and the price of the rental did include the unlimited mileage, however, it was $1300. We were on a tight budget and had to get to our location so I had no choice. When I returned to Alamo they said they would only refund $300. I was told by the rep to contact "Joel" and visit with him. I called immediately and he was not in the office and the rep I visited with said he would have him call me back. I was never called back! In fact I have contacted them 4 times and left voice mail and it is been over a week and still nothing.
With in an hour of our trip the check engine light came on. I contacted the rental for Avis and was told that it meant that the oil needed to be changed and not to worry about it. They would take care of the vehicle when we returned it.
I will not recommend to ANYONE to use Alamo or Avis. I am also turning this issue over to our State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

Cons: The kid at the national booth when we picked it up in Omaha before 9am on Monday morning was absolutely awful. I was renting the vehicle and he maybe made eye contact with me once. He was far from friendly. Terrible customer service.

Night & Day difference
Pros: The car was fine and the young lady who took care of the drop of was awesome.
Cons: The line to pick up the car was outside of the building. I had gotten up at 3 AM to make my flight from Ohio to NE and then had a 2 hr. drive after that. I didn't want to spend the extra time in a very slow moving line.

Pros: What a pleasant group! Quick and Friendly. Only issue was the fuel tank was very small and never notified. So quite a surprise when the tank dropped from 1/2 to 1/4 in only 10 miles on the highway.

Cons: I was disappointed that ordering an SUV actually means "compact-SUV"... i feel the ordering process could have been more clear. I had to move to a larger more expensive car once we got there.
At the end of our trip we needed the car for an additional day, we were charged almost double the daily rate for 1 more day. I felt like you were taking advantage of us... we had no other options so we had to pay it.
Pros: Upon arriving to pick up the car, I found that my husband had accidentally reserved the car, online, for the following weekend. The sales representative was very helpful in changing the rental dates and accommodating the later time of day I needed for returning the car. He did this in a way that enabled me to retain the lower rental price that was available through the online vehicle reservation, all without my even asking. Great customer service.

Lack of Selection made value very poort
Pros: What I liked was that the car was clean, and that the lines for pickup and dropoff were low. That car was adequate for the trip, but just barely.
Cons: Airport rentals, which I know were expensive, should have had better cars for the kind of price I paid. Instead of getting me a nice Toyota, Nissan, or Chevy, I was placed in a Lancer, which was ill-equipped for the driving I was doing. The Lancer also lacked basic lumbar support, which the other cars likely would have had. They did offer a VW, but only if I paid the full-size price. I was already paying $330+ tax for the week (when KAYAK pffered $160-200 for off-airport rentals). To make me particularly angry - Avis did have Camrys available, but only to the "AVIS Preferred" members. I will not be going to Avis again.

Simple and convenient
Pros: Pick up was a very easy process. It was nice to be asked but not pressured to buy any additional coverage, etc. After hours drop off was very easy as well.
Cons: I set my pick up around noon but since there was only one person working at that location I had to wait a few minutes for her to get back in the office from lunch.
Cons: When I picked up the car, the agent told me about a 200 mile/day limit that I was unaware of. The agent was sure to point out that it was my mistake for missing the information. They should have been more helpful in addressing the problem instead of defending their role in it. (When I went back later to see where it states there's a 200 mile/day limit, I still couldn't find it anywhere.) I was also charged $19 more than expected. When I called about it, the agent was unable to help me and gave me another number to call tomorrow. Also, when picking up, the agent should tell the customer "Stop at the Dollar booth in the garage to get the keys." I was not told that and I walked a long way to the car to find it without keys. It was extremely cold and I had my kid with me. We walked around to find help. The person in the Dollar booth said, "You need to stop here first.". Thanks a lot. By the time I got in the car to begin my vacation, I was so heated and frustrated that it took a couple hours for me to cool off, forget the bad experience and start enjoying my trip. The car was awesome, but the pick-up process was pretty rough.

Watch for the hidden fees
Pros: The type of vehicle that we had.
Cons: There was almost $200 in additional fees they tried to charge from the rate kayak gave me $283 and in reality they wanted $460. It's a franchise so good luck with any corporate help. Molly the owner avoided my calls during the rental and never got back about reducing the fee and a refund after the rental was turned in and it was a bogus contract

We barely drove the car and returned it the following day only to be told that we would be charged for 1/2 tank of gas. When I questioned this, the clerk gave me a well rehearsed and rude response "well if she didn't tell you. She wrote it down on your paperwork." I pulled the paperwork out, and she did. It was deceptive, and I will never use Dollar

Pros: was a good quoted rate
Cons: We were told that after the AAA discount it would be $222 including taxes. When we went to pay it was $278 I showed them my paperwork that I printed from the internet confirmation and it was $252 before the AAA discount including taxes. Then they said that I was also prepaying for a full tank of gas. I brought the vehicle back with a full tank as I did not know that I had prepaid for a full tank. They were able to drop the price to $248 and a voucher towards another rental but we do not rent that often. I would have rather had the price at $222 .

Cons: After being rerouted twice, the last time to Omaha, NE, I picked up the car at the airport at midnight. Opened the door for a long trip home and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Started my day at 7:00 a.m. and at midnight had to drive 2 hours home with the windows down. It was awful. It cost me $138 for 2 hours of stink.

I did not get any damages on return inspection and it should be credited in full immediately upon return. And just billed in the amount agreed....Why give us a math problem?!
Cons: I was at the airport to pick up the rental car at 6:00 AM when the desk was to open. I waited till 6:18 and went to National and rented a car from them at a higher price. While renting the National car the Thrifty agent finally showed up and could of cared less that he had just lost a rental and had put me behind schedule by 25 to 30 minutes which actually put me further behind as I had to encounter rush hour traffic.

Thank you Thrifty!
Pros: I had a reservation with Dollar who I rarely use, but the lady at the counter nonchalantly informed me that they could not give me a car since I was traveling out of town. The website said nothing about that. I went down to Thrifty who I use a lot and the gentleman at the counter helped me quickly and gave me a better deal than Dollar was going to give me. I appreciate that he didn't use my situation to "stick it to me". I will never go with anyone but Thrifty again when I need to rent a car.
Cons: The car was loud inside but that is not the fault of Thrifty, that's just the way the car was made. I had no issues with Thrifty.
