Cons: The return process was a bit slow. When you reach the counter the service was good, but to reach the counter when there is a crowd and the process itself took some time and could be very stressful especially when you have a flight to catch.
I reached 2 & some hours before my flight but had to board as I finished, luckily I had only carry-on.

Simply a pain
Cons: Slow service at both pick up. Car old and dirty. Car wouldn't start the first morning in town. Luckily Budget had an office in our hotel which was able to switch it out fairly quickly. Second car was significantly better. Drop-off took forever. Cost ended up being $60 more than cost booked through Kayak.

Pros: Drop off teller was very friendly and understanding.
Cons: Upon arriving at the budget counter the wrong charge was stated. After that was rectified the fees stated on your website of 180 was then increased to 280 US with a further $100 US being held on a cc. None of these were indicated on your website and was a major inconvenience with regards to the budget I allocated.

Pros: Pleasant and competent staff.
Cons: Interior of the windows were dirty. Especially the windshield was dirty and caused significant glare under direct sun. I stopped soon after leaving the airport and cleaned it myself.

Pick up and drop off
Pros: Pick up was fine.
Cons: We had a 8:00 AM flight, with boarding at 7:20. Budget was supposed to open at 6:30, already late for us, but only the cleaning personnel were there. Finally, at 6:45 one woman appeared who had to close out the accounts of several parties, all of us getting early flights. The car lot was far from the desk and so inspection of vehicles was slow... especially with only one person doing everything. I made my slight, but had to leave without my receipt. I asked it to be emailed to me, but so far, nothing.

Pros: It got us from point A to point B.
Cons: The cost when I booked was $218 for the week, when we went to pick up vehicle it ended up costing more for automatic transmission, and insurance, so total was $360 for week, which I found to be a dramatic increase than quoted.
Pros: Good price, friendly staff once we finally got to the office
Cons: Shuttle pick-up took a very long time from Curacao airport, shuttle car was so small we had to wait for the next pick up because our group of three would not fit along with another couple, poor signage to find the pick-up location meant we wandered around in the hot sun for quite some time, car interior pretty dirty, tires a little flat

Happy with rental except for drop off which was te
Pros: Good, comfortable car.
Cons: We had to wander just out the airport to find the car representative standing 'by the tree' who took us to the Holiday Beach Hotel to collect the car. That was ok. I suggested that for drop off I came to the Holiday Beach hotel and they could run us to the airport. However I was told "No' that someone would meet me at the airport at 16:30 which was 2 hours before our flight. When we arrived for drop off at 16.30 no one was there and eventually I had to get someone to ring to get the company to come to the airport to collect the car. The car rental representative eventually turned up almost an hour late and took the keys without any explanation or apology. We were supposed to board one hour before the flight so this caused a lot of anxiety and stress as we hadn't a clue when they would be arriving.

Take a picture of the gas guage
Pros: Good value for the money
Cons: The gas wasn't full when I picked up the car. I returned it with the same amount of gas but they insisted that it was full. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture. The girl was nice enough and offered to fill it up for me - probably nfl 5, but I had a 50 & she had a 20. It beats getting charges $28/litre. So, make sure you take a picture or ask that they fill it up before you drive off. Also, the directions for pickup was really bad. I spent about 30 mins waiting and the "shuttle" was right there the whole time. That was frustrating. Otherwise, it was good.

Great, cheap car rental
Pros: While the car rental isn't technically located at the airport, it's a short (1 minute) walk from baggage claim to a parking lot where they pick you up and bring you to your car. I think this is how they can keep prices so low. They were on time and the car was very clean and it ran well. Highly recommend!

Horrible Customer Service
Cons: The woman at the customer service counter was incredibly rude. It's not called Ace Car Rental in Willemstad, Curacao it's called Baric. They asked me to purchase additional insurance even though I purchased insurance on Kayak. It's really not a great service.

Pros: I want to leave a positive review because overall the experience was a good one. But the deposit on the car takes 7-10 days to reappear on my credit card and I am waiting for that time period to end- and the deposit back! Check out went fine, just waiting for the 350 now! ACE is actually called Boric, which was a little confusing at first. But great service and value.
Cons: Main office is downtown and the shuttle takes a little while.

Pros: The car was INCREDIBLY clean!
Cons: The car was clean, but what they don't tell you is that if you get rental insurance through Kayak - ACE has their own insurance that you are "urged" to get. They will not accept other rental insurance and you would have to pay out of pocket for any charges, submit claims to the insurance, and get reimbursed.
Secondly, they are very far from the airport and the station where to get picked up for the shuttle is not easily recognizable. In fact, when we arrived late due to a delayed flight, we had to find someone who worked with a different car rental company who was kind enough to try and call ACE to send a shuttle to come pick us up - - -took nearly 1 additional hour before everything was settled.
Lastly, the drop-off process did not give up any closing paperwork or sign-out confirmation, which made us very uneasy. If I had to do it over again, I would just use one of the car rental agencies on site at the airport.
Cons: Had to work hard to change the vehicle for a working AC model

Pros: I'm 6'6" (two meters) and the Kia Picanto is roomy beyond belief. You can put two of me in the front, another in the back and sill have room for a very short person. We'd have no room for luggage and roll backwards down uphills, but still, very roomy. Why that car has a 5th gear is beyond me.
Cons: They really put the fear of god hard sell on you at the counter to get the insurance, which I repeatedly declined. A couple checking in at the same time said they had purchased the insurance when they made the reservation and were told that what they had purchased was no good and that they would need to buy additional coverage now. That's pretty shameful. I returned the car on a day when it had rained. When you think about what time to you need to be at the airport, you factor in time to clear security, time to clear customs, time to clear baggage check and check in and time to drop the car off. You don't budget time for arguing with the rental return person about the phantom scratches that they have found and are charging you for but will not show you (the one they did show me was I was able to wipe off. Mud, not a scratch, but she would not change the report), and I think they know that ad prey on that.

Wrong car, difficult customer service
Pros: Not much, honestly
Cons: We had ordered a mid-size car and assumed it would be automatic transmission, as there was no prominent checkbox or indication otherwise.
When we arrived in Curaçao, we were told that we'd reserved a tiny Kia Picanto with manual transmission, which I hadn't used in over a decade, and that no other car was available. The lady at the counter was surly and inflexible, and seemed to know nothing about the insurance we'd purchased through kayak or that such a thing even existed - and placed a large hold on our account because we didn't also purchase Avis insurance.
The car was dirty and barely held our modest amount of luggage for three people, and (as aforementioned) was a real driving challenge for me.

Cons: They did not have any cars available for rental when I arrived. Even though I had reserved the car online, I was told there were no cars available for rental.
Very poor service. Plenty of other rental car companies that are better and offer better customer service.

Cons: We did not pick up the car at any time. Before we left the U.S., I could not get any info from Kayak as to where the pick up would be. I called Avis & they told me a shuttle van would take me to the parking lot after checking in @ the Avis counter. The Avis counter @ the Curacao airport had no record of the rental & told me my rental location was @ least 20 minutes away by taxi. I had no way to contact Kayak & rented a car from Budget. This does not mean I will not rent from Kayak in the future, but due to wrong information I feel due a full refund if my account has been charged.
Cons: The person at pickup was not very friendly nor helpful about some insurance matters. Ended up asking half the airport if someone knew how things worked, and driving off fingers crossed that just nothing would happen. it seemed that Kayak gave me a third party insurance, therefor i had to sign a form at Payless that i refused their own insurance. I rather payed a little more for Payless their own insurance without this mess. The condition of the car... it works, with 100 dents and dirt and the car had trouble getting uphill. But it worked :)

Terrible vehicle and experience
Cons: First of call, we arrived at the vendor's counter and had to wait at least 45 minutes. Then when it was our turn, the representative took at least another 45 minutes to get our car documents in order. It was our wedding trip and other family members used other companies, received their cars and were on their way to the resort before we were even addressed at the counter. The car we requested was an intermediate size. The rep did not even know what that was.
The car received was an old, beat up Kia Cerato, with dings and scratches: dirty with way over 75,000 kilometers ( odometer reading-probably rolled over). The arm rests were torn; seats had cigarette burns. The steering was very loose; very difficult to steer properly.
Upon return, no representative was available. We could not even complain about our experience. We simply left the keys on the counter; no drop box.
This car was the only one available. We were very disappointed with Payless. Again, other family members used other companies and had appropriate, newer cars. We will never use this rental company again because of our very poor experience. This vacation was our wedding and honeymoon and we were very hesitant to drive this car. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY-PAYLESS!!!

Pros: Nothing. I should have gotten a cab.
Cons: They made me pay 800$ deposit because I booked insurance through Allianz and not them directly. It made me anxious to drive the car knowing it would become a huge hassle if anything were to happen to the car so I didn't drive anywhere on the island. Never booking through Payless again.

Fair price for the car
Pros: Inexpensive, friendly staff and located right at the airport.
Cons: Car had several minor dents and the interior was pretty soiled. It's an island rental, so some stains are likely par for the course, but this car would have benefited from a steam cleaning of the upholstery.

Cons: We had many problems with the car , it stalled a few times , it did not start we needed to get a jump start which is not current in Curacao and the brakes were very bad we had to cancel two activities and we lost two days because there was no other vehicle available for us . The other rentals was a bit better .
Cons: Rental price was different than booking online, the staff kept pushing insurance...

Pros: It was very clean.
Cons: When we arrived after our flight, the front desk said that they did not have any cars available. I booked the reservation for weeks prior. After a delay, they found one last car. It was a smaller sedan than what we previously reserved.
Cons: Booked a reservation for car and upon areival was notified that they wanted to charge a 1000 deposit. My rental agreement reservation said a drivers license and payment of final amount required at rental counter nothing about a 1000 deposit. They said up and down its on the website while I showed them my rental agreement that mentioned nothing of deposit required for renting a car. I made the reservation under the same pretense when you rent a car that you can pay cash or card the amount required to pay for rental. I have never had to pay a deposit to successfully rent a car from anywhere before. Very displeased with the entire process and needless to say did not use the rental I had reserved and will rethink my process of renting a car in the future.
