After researching the cars available at multiple locations, I selected this place specifically because of the car that they said was available, which I reserved. When I got there, they told me that car was not available but that they would put me in a smaller car for the same price. There was a car available there that was one class larger than the car I had selected but they told me that would be more expensive however they would be happy to charge me the difference. The staff was nice but I left feeling unsatisfied. I think, since it was the fault of the company that my selected car (and car class) was not available they should have offered the next class up for no additional charge. They told me this was not possible. This was definitely a missed customer service opportunity, possibly by the company and not necessarily the staff since they told me it just couldn't be done. Again the staff was very nice but I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed.

I liked the vehicle I was assigned which was a short bed crew cab pick-up truck. What i really wanted was a standard cab with at least a 6 foot bed. There were none available.
The process was a nightmare. I would rather pay more at a different establishment. They said they ran out of cars. It took just over 3 hours from start to finish.

This was the worst experience I’ve had with Budget ever, at any location. 1. It was very important that I have a large SUV and they did not have the size of vehicle I requested available. 2. I was passed back and forth between an employee and a manager with little communication as to why. It was very confusing and time-consuming. 3. Although I’ve been a long time Budget customer, my information was re-input into the computer (taking even more time) . I’m also a FastPass member. 4. It sounds like there’s a disconnect between customer reservations and car availability at locations. THERE SHOULDN’T BE.

I’ve never rented from Budget before, and as a business traveler, I was a bit disappointed. I rented a mid to small sized SUV, and was given a Ford Bronco Sport. The vehicle had some slight wear and tear as it had almost 56,000 miles on it and it was not very clean. I did not notice the dirty dash until I drove out of the rental garage. I would think a car with that high of mileage would not still be in service but apparently they must not have any lower mileage vehicles, or they are reserved for Budget rental car regulars. This rental certainly did not win me over. Needless to say, not sure if I might rent from Budget or refer them to anyone, anytime soon. Please do better next time.

First off I scheduled my intermediate SUV for 12 noon which was when my flight was coming into Richmond Airport , upon arrival to Budget counter there was no vehicles available at the time that was requested, we had to wait 2 hours and did not get a SUV instead we got a Small Toyota Corolla which had a strong odor of marijuana but took it anyways as we had a wedding to attend. Was told by the manager a 20 something young gentleman that because of our wait we could bring the car back without filling up with gas , we were charged over $80 to fill up the vehicle even after manager said he would put a note in the computer. Talked to customer no service for a hour with a call center overseas and tried to get a US based customer service which I would assume now that they do not have one . Customer service said they would give me back $40 for my inconvenience, really that was an insult . I am not happy with Budget rental car whatsoever

My original reservation was at RIC. The female Ms. Black wasn’t welcoming nor friendly. Ms. Black which was her first name first asked for confirmation number, license, and credit card. When I asked her to be sure I was told that’s what I wanted her to ask me! She then started, drivers license, and credit card. I pulled out the card I used to made the reservation with also handed my license. I was then informed that Dollar doesn’t rent vehicles to in state customers using a debit card (attach to bank). I politely took my things my husband wheeled me back to our car. Sad, and confused based on verbiage I read on Dollars website. Decided to take a chance to visit another location. This location was on broad street in Henrico, Va. The store was closing the manager Marie came out to see if she could help us. Since store was literally closing she asked which car would I need? I pointed to the closest car considering I’m sad because our trip is not going as planned. Maria may have seen the sadness in my eyes. She then said don’t worry I’ll have the vehicle ready as soon as they opened. She also took down my reservation number so she could make sure things went smoothly in the morning. We returned bright, and early Saturday morning, to Maria’s word everything was ready! Due to myself using my bank debit card the system required a credit check. Just a suggestion, not everyone likes to use credit cards. I am a firm believer if I don’t have it to spend I don’t buy. Especially with working for a large financial institution for the last twenty one years. This is also the company who works with organizations such as Hertz, Dollar to provide corporate discount services. Possibly if being required to leave a $500.00 deposit when using bank debit card, the option for credit check should be second suggestion or if person may be a liability. Overall Maria helped turn this negative, humiliating experience around! I am truly grateful for the level of service, and professionalism that she provided. Appreciated she was the one to take accountability for the actions even though she didn’t cause this. Her ability to resolve the situation was truly appreciated. Because of Maria showing me that I mattered, she who represents Dollar showed she truly wanted my business. Kudos once again to Maria! I pray she’s considered fior any increases available to show appreciation for all she does as an employee of Dollar. Warm Regards,

Car stinked of tobacco. Returned the car early and was assured I would receive an adjustment in my account, it has been over 2 weeks and still nothing. Do not recommend.
The airport counter was quick, but then there was only one employee at the next level to give out the cars. The line was 15-20 people long and there did not actually seem to be any cars in the parking lot. People in the front of the line had been waiting a half hour to talk to the one employee. Others who had already talked to him were standing idly waiting for a car. We left without renting.

HERTZ IS THE ONLY CAR RENTAL PLACE AT THE AIRPORT THAT HAS A MILE LONG LINE. I HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR IN AN EXTREMELY HOT AND HUMID PARKING LOT FOR A CAR....EVEN THOUGH I HAD A RESERVATION. I WAITED ALL THAT TIME TO BE HANDED A CAR THAT DIDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY (A TESLA THAT CUT OFF/SHUT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING) AND WASN'T FULLY CHARGED WHEN I GOT THERE. THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE IN ANY RUSH AT ALL NOR DO THEY SEEM TO CARE/TAKE THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY. THE RETURN WAS QUICK AND EASY...BUT I KNEW THAT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. I WAS CHARGED FOR TWO EXTRA DAYS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET AROUND TO CHECKING IN THE CAR UNTIL THEY FELT LIKE IT. IT WAS SUCH A HASSLE DEALING WITH HERTZ TO GET THE MONEY BACK. WHEW CHIL THE GHETTO!!! NEVVVVEEEERRRRRRRRRRR AGAIN!!!

It was easy to pick the car up and the staff was very friendly. I wasn’t, however, crazy about the fact that they gave me a Prius (I wanted a compact not a hybrid). Drop off was a little tough to figure, I think you just need better signage. All in all, a pretty good experience.
Spoke to kayak rep before driving an hour to pick up the rental and he assured me I could rent it with a debit card as I was traveling and didn’t have my credit card. I got there just before close to be turned away by Alamo reps who were rude and unhelpful. I will never use kayak or Alamo again.
