Overlooking palm-fringed Isla Verde beach and the azure Atlantic the InterContinental® San Juan hotel is moments from the resort's renowned bars and nightlife. Sip a cocktail in the stylish Q-Bar savor flawless service and exquisite cuisine in Trattoria Italiana or dine on delightful Asian fusion dishes in SAK-I restaurant. You can relax with a massage in Akua Spa or drift past rock waterfalls in our lagoon pool. Elegant ballrooms and lush gardens welcome exceptional events.
Pros: The location is right on the beach, close to the airport. Good views from the ocean facing rooms. We were on the 16th floor and it was great. Lots of restaurants nearby and within the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable.
Great housekeeping staff, very friendly and helpful
Cons: Sand fleas...a tiny bug that bites like a mosquito/bed bug. They were all over in our room. This was before we had even stepped on the beach, so they were there before we came and stayed with us till the end. We had to apply bug repellent to sleep and not be bitten.
No activities by the hotel. They charge a resort fees but it feels more like a traditional hotel rather than a resort.
Tiny bathrooms
No easy access to clothes dryer, c'mon you are on the beach.
Great Spot
Pros: Staff was great! Location Excellent it was close to the airport but you didn't hear the airport!
Home away from home
Pros: What's not there to like?
Cons: There's nothing there not to like!
Comfortable, clean and understated luxury
Pros: Had to spend one extra day in PR after vacation elsewhere, and we randomly picked the IH. We were pleasantly surprised. They let us do early check-in 4 hours before the regular time. The room was very comfortable for all 4 of us, and the beds were super comfortable. The facilities were also great, beautiful pools and of course a nice beach. Will be back for a longer stay next time.
Cons: It's not inexpensive, but still a good value.
The staff was very helpful
Pros: The staff, the view
Cons: Sliding door to balcony was hard to open and close.
Pros: location to beach and pool
Cons: Dollar you to death. They charge 22.00 a day for beach taxes and do not tell you to you check out and then apply it to the 200.00 that you must put down when check in. ( THIS IS JUST FRAUD ). when I paid 6.00 usd to use there computer in there business center, the internet would not work. They refused to refund my money. Told me to come back tomorrow and i could use the computer for free. I told them i was checking out today and wanted credit for my 6.00. I was told by management they could not refund me. Due to these hidden cost, we moved to a different hotel.
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: This is not an all inclusive resort, it does not even offer breakfast. We do not feel like we got our money's worth.
Go somewhere else
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I paid a butt-ton of money to stay at this hotel. The girl at the front desk didn't even say hello to me when I was checking in. That says it all right there. Then she hit me with a massive resort fee, which definitely was not worth it. Then I said to her: "If you're going to hit me with an 18 percent resort fee, you might want to ease the blow with a simple greeting." Probably won't be headed back to Puerto Rico anytime soon. I'll just stay in NY where people treat you like shit, but at least you're still in NY.
Pros: Liked the pool and beach.
Cons: Service was horrible. Staff wasn't friendly. Had to ask front desk 3 times for someone to unclog our bathroom shower (super unhygienic) and after everything was said and done they didn't come to fix it or move us rooms. They didn't even compensate us for the horrible inconvenience. The place felt really run down and in a not so safe location for walking around. Additionally the bathroom wouldn't stop flushing all night so the sound of water was really annoying. Not to mention the smell of this rancid running water. Waist experience at an intercontinental (which I'm truly a fan of usually).
