Hidden resort fees are totally unacceptable. Was not aware of the fees when I booked and very surprised with bill when it came. Will not use again.
Modern, good location
Uncomfortable bed and pillows, thin walls can hear people coughing and phone texting
We were given a room with a "view", except the view was staring into the top floor of the office building on the west-side of the hotel. As a result, we had to keep our blinds closed because we could clearly see into that building, and assumed they could see into our room as well.
Location was excellent - we were convenient for the BART, the cable car, shopping areas, SFMOMA and Pride, which was taking place that weekend. The room was spacious with a comfy bed and a great view from the full length windows of the city.
There was one instance of dirty towels from another room accidentally being left in the bathroom, hence reduced scores there. However, the biggest concern for our stay, and the reason the hotel doesn't score excellent marks in my view is the daily $39 (or possibly $40) charge for wifi, bottled water, access to the fitness centre (and some other features). This was captured in the original information about the booking but I think this information should have been more prominent in details about the hotel. Because we didn't notice when we booked, we were hit with a c.$160 charge for our stay upon our arrival. It wasn't optional, even though we never used any of the facilities but the wifi and bottled water, and we only received one small bottle of water in our room over the four night stay. I've only been charged once for wifi at a hotel (and it was optional) and it was nowhere as high as this! My fault for not noticing but I wish it was a) better signposted and b) optional or cheaper!
Beautiful view, comfortable bed, accommodating staff, great location
A bit out dated but I would stay here again
Along the riverfront in downtown San Francisco is Park Central Hotel. With scenic views, easy access to dozens of shops and a quick ride on the BART or via taxi to San Francisco Airport. Just steps away are dozens of iconic spots to visit, things to see and things to do. Pet-friendly rooms are available and modern furnishing create a cozy yet romantic ambiance.
Several amenities are in each room including a flat screen television, complimentary WiFi, a workspace with a work desk, a coffee maker, and mini-fridge. A buffet-style breakfast is served each morning and features every food from pastries to savory smoked salmon. A complimentary wine tasting is offered in the evenings with appetizers and hand-selected wines.
Stay in and indulge in a tasty meal from Maso. Locally sourced ingredients come together to create entrées that are a fusion of worldly flavors and American fare. Bite into a juicy burger with caramelized onions, and bacon atop a brioche bun alongside a locally brewed beer or share a sweet slice of New York Cheesecake with a cup of coffee.
Explore everything downtown San Francisco has to offer and visit the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and of course make stops along the way to the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and the famous Alcatraz Island. Discover a new wine while touring Napa and Sonoma or discover a new trail while taking in the Redwoods. For comfort, a convenient location, and quick airport access, book a stay at the Park Central Hotel.
