It was great location off the main drag on a quiet residential street. Largely you are kept away from there happenings and noise on Collins.
The room still smelled like bleach initially. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom were surprisingly damaged and rusting.

The staff was nice. I liked that we could use the chairs at the beach.
The room was really hard to sleep in the room. It was very loud outside. The room didn’t get very dark. The outlets didn’t work on one side of the room. The pillow smelled like someone’s cologne. It was kind of gross.

Beautiful, quiet hotel on a quiet area, but close enough to the beach and all the sights. Staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The bed was soft and cozy, really liked it. The room was fresh and modern, with nice pool views. The pool area was really nice to lounge with a pleasant bar serving great cocktails. Loved the little touch of Portuguese things - home away from home!
All things, except one, could be dealt with, so no big deal: - As it is an old building with less than 4 stories (the building I stayed in, one of 3), there were no elevators, which does not help when you need to carry a heavy bag (although there is staff at hand to help). - Woke up with the noisy room fridge at night but did sleep once I managed to turn it off - once I informed the staff at check out they immediately took note without my asking, something I really appreciated. - Did not like to pay extra for capuccino after paying already 17 USD for breakfast - all should be included or else not served.
