A fusion of a traditional Japanese household, mixed with modern convenience. A small-scale ryokan offering a warm welcome and great service. Rooms are Japanese-style, with a distinctly "Kyoto" feel, fitted with Simmons' beds - for those not used to sleeping in futon. Relax in baths made from cypress wood - often said to relieve fatigue. Meals consist of Kyoto's traditional local kaiseki-ryori cuisine, which guests can enjoy in the comfortable restaurant - with chairs and tables rather than floor-seating. Food is served and presented in the local manner, with careful attention to presentation; using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. Situated on an old cobblestone road, this is the perfect location for sightseeing in the Higashiyama area. Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park, Kodaiji, Kiyomizudera Temple, Gion, Kawaramachi and Kamogawa can all be reached easily on foot. Guests are really spoilt for choice!
