Location switched. Shower broke

The hotel changed the location of stay lastminute from nh anglo american to nh firenze which was 500 m away. This was very unfortunate since the 500 m is not easy covered by car since the roads in this area are not accessible by car. Furthermore the shower broke so we could not have a shower in the morning. At last, I lost something in the hotelroom. When I contacted the booking contact I was contacted the wrong hotel cause the location was changed. They referred my to the other location instead of arranging it for me. All together not a good stay.

Great superior room. A few things were missing upon arrival, like the tea and kettle set but the staff promptly provided them. Due to Covid the breakfast buffet was not self service so a queue formed at the counter as staff were serving guests, but overall they provided great attention to detail and safety.

We were moved to another hotel as they use the lack of guest to only open one hotel. They are supposedly strict about covid security cutting major cost on breakfast (no eggs, tomato, frozen fruits that are in bad shape) due to covid but staff is not using gloves and it would be much easier if you had a spoon and served yourself and much healthier. Ps this is the same in other NH in Italy as we stayed in Bologna as well. The swimming pool was closed. I believe the rate should be reflected in that sense. It’s sad as it’s a pleasant hotel and staff is very nice the policies in place are not showing an effort to reopen tourism positively but making guest feel you pay for losses of covid.

The key cards to the room stopped working every 24h Also there were some problems with the plumbing Parts of the room urgently needed modernization (see the pics) No noise protection at all; luckily the street outside is not very busy; otherwise sleeping inside would have been literally impossible The breakfast is OK according to general standards even for 4*, but I’ve been already staying at NH hotels in different parts of Europe for a while and I know that for this chain, it is typical to see much wider assortment of absolutely superb breakfast dishes (especially taking into account that the price is relatively high if compared to other hotels)

Hotel staff were friendly and assisted us in changing rooms the next day to the nearby NH Firenze

This hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment!! Peeled pain, chipped walls, etc. We are familiar with NH hotel chain and NH Anglo Americano is definitely not up to standard. We managed to change hotel and stayed at nearby NH Firenze which is a 5 minute walk away. The Anglo Americano hotel does not have a garage (cars are left with the hotel that then leaves them at a nearby garage). It takes 20-30 minites to get the car back so forward plannning is required. The hotel does not have gym facilities.

Quiet street, very close to the river. Next block to the American consulate with it's 24/7 security guards- I think that maked me feel more safe walking around at night. We stayed late December: the windy walk to main part of the city seemed too long, particularly after dark. But in the summer, I think this place would be just a perfect choice for travellers, who do not want to be bothered by crowds and noise, plus walk along the river side would seem very refreshing. Very spacious, and gorgeous interiors of arrival hall, lobbies, bar and breakfast area. The hotel has court yard. I found 2 pianos( a grand and upright), for those who are musicians, like me- 10 min fingers warm up may be very helpful. Breakfast was good.

The bed was a bit too soft. The hotel's location is still within the old town area, but kind of on the edge of it. Bathtub is long, but a bit narrow for those who are bigger than size M.

The location was good as we didn’t want to be in the busy centre. It was a walkable distance from the station. It was quiet at night. The bedroom was large and bathroom adequate. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice.

The breakfast is wonderful and overall it’s a good hotel. The two electric plugs were difficult as they were placed in odd places and we even used an upside down waste basket to use to hold our iPhones while they charged.

The building and rooms need a lot of maintenance. It is no longer a 4 star hotel. It reqires painting inside and out. The bathroom had timber damage, the room needed painting and the balcony and doors/shutters all needed a lot of work ( maintenance, clean up, painting).

Wi-Fi connection in our room was very weak. Air-conditioning system was freezing like hell and we were not able to turn it off. We asked the manager the reason and he told our room was in "testing mode". The parking is payable (25 EUR per night).

Very old and “worn out”, stairs to the second level in the room and the bedroom upstairs had dirty yellow (used to be yellow) carpet that turned brown. AC wasn’t enough, it got really hot on the second level, WiFi wasn’t working, but hotel provided hotspot. Breakfast hot choices were very limited. Power went out in the room, was restored in 20 minutes.

The NH Hotel - if you are accustomed to their service- is not offered at this location. The parking is offered at a fee, and the rooms were quite old and outdated and not as they appear in the pictures posted awkwardly fitted, where you had to step down- almost falling into the room, which was a hazard. Also personal requests that were made online were not fulfilled upon arrival, even after checking into the room, and going back to the front desk to inquire if extra towels and toiletries can be added to the rooms. And the staff was quite rude.

Great service and nice rooms. Located slightly away from the noisy city centre but its a walking city and within 15-20min walk you're anywhere you want to be. Concierge recommended excellent restaurants for us and took care of reservations.
