Known for it's friendly and informal atmosphere, this 16th century Coaching Inn retains a wealth of original features and is situated in the heart of the historic town of Midhurst. Sympathetically restored and upgraded, the hotel retains it's heritage behind a late Georgian facade and many quality architectural features from it's Tudor origins. The Angel has always played a roll in local affairs: the first floor Court Room was used for hearing the town's legal cases until the late 1800’s. Today it is a popular setting for private dining while the Garden Room is used as a reception room for wedding parties. Both function rooms are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and can accommodate up to 80 guests or 120 by adding a marquee. Each of the hotel's 28 bedrooms have been individually designed and furnished with carefully chosen antique furniture and quality fabrics. From the cosy to the grand, all offer a private en-suite bathroom, colour television, direct dial telephone and some have four poster beds and original beams. Children are always welcome at the Hotel, extra beds can be supplied in many of the rooms for an additional supplement. The quality of the food served at The Angel confirms the impression this is an establishment which brings together the best of town and country. Good food, impeccably presented and served, is central to the hotel's approach to hospitality. Enjoy a quick drink or savour a delicious meal in the recently opened bistro - The Halo Bar. Children are always welcome.
