This is where it all began. In 1620, the Mayflower departed England carrying the first European settlers to the lands that became America. Over the next two centuries, more ships followed, including those traveling to Canada and Australia. To stand here on the site where three other countries began is humbling, to say the least. The Mayflower Steps, along with several other historical monuments, make Plymouth a major stop on many travelers itineraries.
