Loveland Vacations

Loveland, Colorado bills itself as the Gateway to the Rockies. Situated just north of Denver on the western edge of the vast Colorado plains, the Rockies are but a short scenic drive from Loveland up Big Thompson Canyon Road (US 34). With a population of 59,563 Loveland was once agrarian: a major center for growing sugar beets and cherries. Today, the agricultural economy has been replaced by high tech-manufacturing; Hewlett Packard, Teledyne and Hach are large employers in the area. Loveland is an artsy sort of town; the municipal government owns a public art collection. Numerous art galleries and museums are located here, and Loveland has been rated as one to the top eight "Great Art Destinations" in the United States by U.S. Art Magazine. Outdoor recreation is abundant as well. There are three golf courses, and ample opportunities to fish, hike, boat, go horseback riding, and to camp. Interestingly, AARP Magazine voted Loveland number one place in the nation to "Revitalize Your Life." Who know some visitors may well decide to sit down and stay awhile in Loveland.
