Corfu is an island, a coast, a town, and a beach resort area. How much of them a visitor chooses to visit depends upon what they are looking for. The beach resorts are kinda obvious, with the coast being the biggest draw for those interested in leaving civilization behind and heading for a few days of fun in the sun. The town is more cosmopolitan with Greek, French, Italian, and British trappings, and the interior Corfu is made up of small farms and villages with gentle slopes and countless fruit and olive trees. Visitors should check out the Old Fort with its twin peaks each topped with a castle, the Museum of Asian Art with its Chinese and Japanese art, or the Archaeological Museum with its pediments that date back as early as 575 B.C.
