Chattanooga Travel, Hotel, and Visitors Guide
Chattanooga is the fourth largest city in the state of Tennessee and a great place to take the family, with plenty of historic districts, interactive museums, Civil War sites, and lots of outdoor activities. The original inhabitants were Native Americans, dating back to the Upper Paleolithic period through 1838. A Muskogean term for rock, Chattanooga might refer to Lookout Mountain, which looks like a rock rising to a point, when viewed from Moccasin Bend. Places of interest include the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Raccoon Mountain Caverns, and Chickamauga & Chattanooga Military Park. Animal lovers can choose between the Chattanooga Zoo, the Tennessee Wildlife Center and the Tennessee Aquarium, or visit all three.
