Cons:We were told in flight had been cancelled in their system, and had to wait 30 minutes for them to rectify a problem that we did not cause. We sat on the tarmac for two hours-the pilot did not say why. Service was. Horrible? No toilet tissue in bathrooms, plane leaking, no cushions on some seats....horrible experiemce

Cons:Only three agents were available for check-in at TAME's check-in section so upon arriving two and a half hours early, one and a half of those hours were spent getting to the front of the line. At the check-in desk, the agent informed me that upon landing, everyone would only be receiving one piece of luggage that day, so to return the next day to Ecuador's airport for the rest of your luggage. Upon landing, I got 0/3 pieces of my luggage. 1 piece was available the next day. The other 2 pieces would not arrive until 4 days later. Departing plane from JFK was delayed 3 hours because the original aircraft was "imperfect." Terrible. Do not recommend.

Pros:I liked that it was nonstop, but the time was terrible - 1:45am.
Cons:Everything took way too long and the flight was uncomfortable. Since it was an overnight flight, I was hoping to sleep. There was absolutely no sleep to bechad. The seats were tiny, they barely reclined, so getting into a comfortable position was impossible.. One child (about 4 or 5 years old) wouldn’t stop crying or talking loudly or playing some noisy game on her parent’s phone. The flight was jam-packed. Because I was feeling lousy - tired and irritated - I just couldn’t eat much breakfast. Not in the moi to eat eggs at 6am. It’s really too bad, since the flight was fantastic from Nee York to Quito.

Pros:The food was somewhat weird (unusual combination of flavors) and scant, but quite decent. Flights were generally on time. Staff was generally friendly.
Cons:Planes were very old, and with bare minimum amenities. I was on two six-hour international flights (a long trip with one layover), and had absolutely no entertainment (not even radio music to drown out children crying/people talking loud). I requested a blanket and pillow, and was told those were reserved for children. Only one beverage service (with meal) in a 6-hour period with no complimentary alcohol (standard in international flights). My overhead light did not work properly (blinked when I turned it on). I could not choose my seat, and therefore, was stuck in the middle seat on a six-hour overnight flight. No online check-in available for US flights.

Overview of TAME

TAME EP is an Ecuadorian airline that operates most of its flights out of a central base in Quinto. An additional hub is located in Guayaquil. In addition to an expansive domestic network that reaches more than 7 destinations across Ecuador, international services are available to Colombia and the United States. It is one of only a few carriers to reach the Galapagos Islands, providing connections for many vacationers.

Owned by the Ecuadorian Government, it is the national flag carrier and has been operating flights since 1962. Codeshare agreements are held with several airlines in the South America region, including Avianca, Copa Airlines, Aeroméxico and Aerolíneas Argentinas. The partnerships help ease intracontinental travel, while agreements with Air Europa, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines offer a globalized product.

Economy fares are only available to the public on TAME EP flights, meaning you don’t need to worry about which cabin you choose. All passengers are permitted a carry-on bag as well as 23 kg (approximately 50 lb) of checked luggage.

A combination of Airbus, ATR and Embraer aircraft make up the airline’s fleet. Airbus planes, including the A320-200 model, are regularly flown for longer distance routes, such as flights to the United States. The dual propeller ATR 42 serves smaller domestic services, capable of transporting roughly 50 passengers. The livery features a simple white and blue pattern, with TAME EP branding along the front end of the fuselage. The Ecuadorian flag is proudly emblazoned near the tail. The phrase "my country, my airline" is inscribed in Spanish underneath the cockpit window.
