Pros (+) Quirky but clean and modern room. Great location. Helpful staff. Family room quite large by UK standards!
Cons (-) A little pricey (but everything costs more during the Fringe!), dining arrangements at the pub next door so dining options limited (but lots of cafes and pubs around Grassmarket). Lots of stairs (lifts only get you so far) so pack light if possible.

Pros (+) The staff was extremely friendly, with the location close to eateries for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night nightcaps. The free WiFi was excellent with easy connectivity. I was visiting for the Fringe Festival and International Book Fair. The hotel was a perfect location. There is a bit of walking to visit Edinburgh, but I left feeling quite healthy which is a good thing!

Pros (+) My teenage son and I stayed during Fringe and were delighted by the modern (steel and wood) look and youthful (comic book) appeal. The decor says "fun"...the room is simple and comfortable.. the towels are big and fluffy...the beds are firm and "fresh-looking"...the bathroom rain shower was heavenly. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Don't read old reviews.
Cons (-) Don't book here if you need a lot of room, stuffy luxury or old-fashioned amenities. We couldn't figure out the TV, but who needs that anyway!
