Driving in San Juan was very easy! Roads are well- marked and easy to navigate, no trouble at all!! I HIGHLY recommend downloading the toll app and adding $20 to avoid fees charged by the rental company, check into that because if you plan to drive around the island you will Need the toll roads!!

The price was double what was quoted on kayak website. The name of the company is not ACE it’s Charlie Car Rental. Terrible customer service, the car had sand all inside of it. I had purchased insurance through kayak they made me buy an additional insurance coverage. Just all around terrible experience. I would’ve absolutely picked another company if I knew this would’ve been the outcome. You should remove them from your website.

We requested a large SUV - like an expedition. Instead we got a palisade. We had 8 adults and luggage for a week, so it was extremely cramped and uncomfortable anywhere we went. The Hertz team initially told us that is would be 35 minutes while they cleaned the vehicle for us. But they just immediately gave us the palisade. We were happy to wait for the correct size vehicle, but they would not give it to us. Extremely disappointed in Hertz this trip. We would have even settled for two vehicles instead, but they would not accommodate. I’ll rent somewhere else next time.

To begin with, the amount quoted was definitely not what I received from Kayak. They obligated to take their insurance because I didn’t show proof, ( a letter), indicating that my insurance would cover vehicle. Otherwise, I couldn’t take the vehicle. That’s real bad business and will NOT EVER recommend Dollar rental to anyone and maybe even Kayak because of false quote.

Upon arrival from CT, I was told my reservation had been canceled the night before! More outrageous thing was that I was forced to take insurance full cover!!! Either that or stay stranded without a car. I believe that was rip off and illegal, since i had declined insurance because my own insurance covers rentals. Staff was not helpful and did not seem to care that they took advantage of travelers with a blank stare. Also, I was charged a whole day plus taxes, fees and insurance for returning the car one hour late!!! Won’t rent from Dollar again. Better get Uber. Stay away from this company!!!

The staff was very friendly. I rented a Jeep Wrangler and received a Honda CRV. I would not have mentioned it, but it was specific that it was a Wrangler to enjoy the environment on this vacation. Our flight was late, so they cancelled the Jeep and gave it to someone else after two hours. Nowhere does it say after two hours your car is cancelled ( I would’ve called if I knew this information). They did not call to confirm.

Horrible. I was supposed to pay around 100$ for the rental. Ended up paying over 500 with all their invented fees. Worse experience ever. If i wasnt in a rush to get to my wifes grandfathers funeral i wouldve rather walked or looked for a different provider. Our flight was delayed. We called to let them know 4 hours prior to our pick-up time. They told us they would only hold our reservation for 1hr (our flight was delayed 2 hours), and after that they'd give it to the 1st walk-in and we'd have to get a car in a first come first serve basis. If we had failed to show up on time for our appointment, I'd completely understand if they gave it away. But we called to let them know we'd been delayed and that we were still planning on renting the car for our 2 week visit!

usave is next to the dennys. tricky to get into the area from surrounding roads, pay close attention (we went in the one-way street wrong way on return but this doesnt seem to be a big deal in PR). can get busy in office, often only one staff around. airport shuttle is convenient. car was basic but clean and worked well enough for our week trip (had a maintenance alert on it for oil but the oil had just been changed but alert not cleared according to staff - seemed ok for trip).

Nothing at all. Bait and switch. Made the reservation for $168, got to PR the car cost $500. They refused to accept my military full coverage auto insurance. Manager was dismissive and rude

The staff was very very slow and did not care about customer service. She was rude when I tried to get a time estimate after waiting 40 mins to be called up. The other staff members appeared to be very disorganized. After 50 minutes, we decided to leave. We never got the car and took our business to another car rental place that was much much quicker.

Oh my, this place is a mess... it's now called allied. I rented here before with the same experience. This time I had to cancel because they were saying my online rate wouldn't allow me to use my private vehicle full coverage.... so rented online then they wanted an additional 174$... went to NU down the street got a nicer car for same original online price. Also 2 different customers were accused of damaging their car while we were standing in line, both had taken pics and proved otherwise. It is slow, rude, disorganized, poorly ran, etc.

The biggest problem is with your estimating system. The taxes and fees you gave me were 150% off. Wasted 1 hour of my trip trying to understand what happened. Your system should not use US estimates it’s way off and it makes for a lot of unhappy customers

They didn’t have a car for me. The customer service at the station was awful. The young lady at the desk couldn’t have cared less about the fact they had no car, despite me booking one. The main depot didn’t even answer the phone to her so she could get an update. I eventually walked out after I was an hour late after my booking time, with no car. So disgusted. I am an ex Avis employee so it’s even worse!

Nothing. I arrived at 10:00 AM. I waited in the hot garage with mosquitos for 45 minutes. We got our car after 11. The computer system was down so the 2 customers in front of me took about 25 minutes each.

Cons:

We showed up at 10:00 AM, we should have gotten our car before 11....We could have been allowed to wait in the AC instead of the hot mosquito infested garage... The employee could have moved a little quicker. I would not rent here again. The car gas tank could have been full instead of 5/8's, so many things could have been better.

We had a two week rental. On first day of the tental the agency called saying they had no cars leaving us stranded at our Airbnb. He said they might have a car later or maybe it would be 3 days. For hours after that call they would not answer their phone.. Finally they did answer and he had one come in.

The car I booked was a standard SUV. The car I got was far from a standard SUV. It was a smaller SUV. It had a bad smell in it and the car's performance and ride was terrible.

That particular location did not have an airport shuttle, the shuttle took me to another location where I had to take a cab to the correct location, which was a total drag since I was coming from the airport.

Pros:

Enrique was super helpful and efficient whIle renting the car. Our reservation was ready and was exactly what we needed. He gave us helpful tips on where to eat around town and made everything so easy after a long trip into Puerto Rico.

Cons:

The only downfall is that there was only 1 shuttle to and from the airport.

It was terrible specially when I was transferred to mexico, the car I reserve was in Puerto Rico I tried more then 10 times for costumer help until I got some one from San Juan and from all information I asked about the rental and insurance he triple the rate so I was so sad that I did not rent there and took me a day to rent a car
