I got a hot deal car, so my expectations were extremely low, and still the car did not live up. I got an ugly blue Chevy Spark. The car was TINY, both front to back and side to side - I've been in go-carts with more room. I'm not even 6' tall, and I barely fit. My brother and I literally couldn't fit in this car together at the same time. This was bad enough, but what I paid per day was nearly twice what I've paid for a Mercedes or BMW in the past. Sadly this was still the best experience I've had renting a car in Ft. Wayne. Somehow compacts have moved up to midsized status (e.g. Rav4), and prices have still gone up. This whole mess has made me less likely to rent a car, less likely to fly, less likely to travel as a whole.7.6 Good

When we picked up the car it was only half full of gas. We also we're not able to rent car seats for our twin two year olds. The counter person was pleasant but less than helpful. When we returned the car the counter person was awesome. I wish car seat rental options were available when reserving the vehicle.10.0 Wonderful

Everyone I spoke to was helpful. They provided electronic copies of everything, so it saves paper and the environment, plus convenient. They had vehicle I requested and quickly got me in it when we arrived at the location. Drop off after trip was simple too.Cons:
I scheduled a pick up at least a day in advance and waited over an hour for the ride to appear. I rented a minivan (reserved in January and got it in August) and they asked if I would switch down because they were short on vans that day. The van wasn't totally clean. I was told i would be getting a SUV of the size approximate to Grand Cherokee. I recieved a small SUV ( equinox) that was NOT awd or 4x4 which is what i was needing ( trip north.) we didn't get the car, they accepted our Visa/debit card for the reservation, however, after driving 35 miles out of our way to the airport to pickup in our motor home & showing multiple ID, including Cash, they don't accept cash nor debit card ! We have credit card, forgot to bring new one in wallet, we had the expired one. This is not stated on their website anywhere, since when is cash or Debit/ Visa not good? It isn't like they cannot obtain $ instantly, nor bill for more. Very frustrating. will never rent from them again !10.0 Wonderful

I have rented a car with my bank credit/debit card for the last 3 years...Unbeknownst to me they now require a major credit card which I didn't find out until I was at the counter. If this was disclosed prior I could have made other arrangements. Instead I was totally left on the day we were leaving without a car. I will never use ThriftyAmerican Rent-A-Car
